widmkr, i heartily appreciate your offering but, i need fully operation naval ships first. Julian, or eTeam showed us promising vhs clips, the carrier landing/takeoff, and moving ships, firing missiles, etc. all will be suspended

The worsest is, Snacko's post on simhq or frugals said he want this sim to be USAF sim

anyway, relax. we'll wait and see.

--Hmm I've been following the boards closely
and I havent seen any statements as to Falcon5 being dumbed down..although some litesim new modes will be in to atract newbies the campaigns will be highfidelity

For those who didnt get a copy of LodEditor, i urge you grab one ASAP. Lots fun there!!

Here's some test, no serious:

In this one, i fix the wing shape of F15, and re-map the inner side texture if F14 fins. Say, there are limits, i cant texture bottom sides of F14/F15 mainwing and elevators.

this one shows a mig27 with modified nose, remaped front texture with a optical window on nosetip. Too bad the canopy poly is no way to modify?

This one demostrates re-mapping of both sides of mainwing, inner sides of vertical fins.
Now asymmetrical camo on mig29 is doable!

well, if we expect we can upgrade these model to the same complexity of viper shape in near future(Julian's converter, or toolkit from Snacko?), we wont waste time on remap current shapes.

This time its a re-shaped and re-mapped mig21.

note the re-shaped canopy and flattened elevator plains. also asymmetrical camos on mainwing, elevator, and vertical fin.
much closer to The Real Thing(tm)

note:
1.the radome got no texture, i re-color it in dark gray, much better than flat black!
2.re-positon and lengthen landing gear.
3.not the gear, also re-colored!!

one more closer step to TRT(tm). however, no promise.

Thats the best i can do.
At least i feel better, since the first day i saw this shape in F4.

Cant believe that, i corrected lots ugly parts!

The only thing cant do is, 30mm cannon wont fire from starboard after adjusting its DOF.

Aeyes, i got good 3-side line drawing first, then measure the plain of mainwing-elevator to nosetip. The real thing is about 2 degree down. Adjust shape vertices accrodingly!
Though i dont wnat this to be a serious project, I'll fix the front gear, go further lengthen it and add a larger tire, for the cause of TRT.
As for re-mapping part, I know there are lots faces need remapping, but i wont tough this part.

1. canopy front end tweaked, squarish rounded out.

Frankly, i know this angular landing gear once i got 3-side view from Venik's site. just too lazy to model it.
OK, i'll spend another few minutes to tweak this, for the sake of TRT.
BTW, since you point this, I'd better confess more:
1.The diameter of landing gears pilars(all three) not tweaked yet, the front one need a fix exclusively, including its angle, and the steering parts. i wont work on this.
2.the front gear tyres are enlarged to fit the real thing.
3.we've a good chance to add landing gear door, or add a hook for K model, with current vertices. Since Dragon revealed me some new progress about LE, i stop this.
4.Im quite understood that the front section of airframe is too "thick", if we lower the height of canopy/pit/dorsal faring about 1/2 inch, the whole shape will be more slender and sharp, like the pic you post. just too many vertices to move.

anyway, we could go further to polish it, but dont expect the same details as those in MSFS freeware, or Flanker seris...untill Julian and Dragon show us the miracle...in near future

and one more, im serious about this, G2/F12 is about to working on F15C/E/Taiwan theater, this mean they could upgrade all models of first line a/c in FV, so, I'll turn my interest to something different. say, FV guys wont consider making a new shape for Belouga bomb in FV

This is my final touch on mig29 a/c.
rear gear tweaked.
nosetip fine touched.
and if you are sharp enough, the radome is colored in two tone of gray!
thats all. I ever think of lower the height of canopy/dorsal fairing, which should significantly improve the shape, no, too many vertices.
