For general falconeers, wait Jerry's new patch. For experienced mod makers, get samples from F4LE and risk your f4 install.

one more, AIM-9D, Blowpipe, and small bomb for Jerry.

Hey CCC, the ALARM skin looks horrible!
I'll try that thing you told me, like importing it with other F4Patch patches of weapons, then i'll be able to test my stuff before sending you this kind of... shit, i'd say.

I'm gonna add the coloured 'lines' try to enhace the watermarkings and all. Wish me luck!

Anyway, the 3D models look great!

Any of you doing this targeting pod?
quote:The Sniper comprises a high-resolution 3rd generation FLIR, a dual-mode laser and a CCD-TV along with a laser spot tracker and a laser marker.
-------------------------------------------------------------

An additional feature of Sniper is its aircraft compatibility. Capable of being embedded or podded, Sniper technology is incorporated into Lockheed Martin's Joint Strike Fighter (JSF) design. The executive vice president and general manager of Lockheed Martin's (JSF) program, Tom Burbage, added, "The US Air Force's selection of Sniper XR for the Advanced Targeting Pod programme is a real benefit to the Lockheed Martin JSF team. The JSF Electro-Optical Targeting System (EOTS) is highly common with Sniper, and we are pleased that the Air Force has recognised the benefits of our high- performance modular EO system for its fighter aircraft."

well, modeling such pod is quite different from missile/bombs.

better work on 3ds max first, then converted via LE.

the key point is, need good 3 side line drawings and good dimension data.

These pods are part of the main F-16 model and are part of a Switch branch. The HTS Pod along with the Pave Penny pod are done this way. I was gonna texture them over the weekend but I couldnt find a good picture of either of them.

In order to get the targeting pod, you would need an EXE hack to allow for it to be turned on or you could just replace the Pave Penny with it.

ya Hunter, i surely know you can model it :D

Like Rick said, it need exe hack, probably F4superPAK can help. btw, to make that seeker turret turning like a DOF...could be way too complicated for exe hacking. then, can we live with a fixed turret like default pods?

Ships are in desperate need of attention. There are only 3 or 4 default ship models.

IMHO they need work!

Shawn is working on a Battleship model I think... at least he mentioned it on the F4LE forum the other day.

I'm not sure about a new targeting pod.... It looks cool, but I don't think it will do much for us since the targeting system that it represents would need to be completely revised - this is all hardcoded edits.... therfore I suspect that modelling this pod would only be for eye candy.

FYI, the targeting pod is a part of the model and is activated by a switch (11 I think).

Hunter, if you check our Vnam archive, you could find my A6 tweak.
Use F4browse, you can add pylon for it, though not in f4p format.

Hello all, I'm pretty new to this deal so I won't get in your way. I just have a few questions. I have been working on an AGM-86 cruise missile model, and was wondering where I could get a full detailed manual for LOD editor. I have pics of my progress if you'd like me to post it. I have 2 fears in mind: If anyone is already working on it, or if my model is too detailed. I am pretty serious in implementing this for the B1 bomber for starters, and I'll keep you guys updated on my progress. Any help in this matter is greatly appreciated. Thanks...

1. LodEditor manual? i've not seen it yet :D
the only you have is readme doc included in your LE zip. somebody could post tips on F4LE forum, go check it.

2.AGM86, ya a sweet toy! post your screenshots pliz! Before you go further, my 2c here:

a.f4 engine cant handle crusie missile, due to its range( outside bubles), its manuever(terrain-following), and its deployable wings and fins(missile items cant do the similar thing like LGB fins) all these problem could only be solved by SC hacking/coding.

b. now come to modeling itself. you have many way to model it. The easiest ones, if you are a Mac user, use Dragon's latest LE, you can draw and build it throughly with Mac LE. if not Mac user, you can easily model one in 3ds max, then convert to lod with LE, do some node tree sorting, then it done. should be easy too. As for LODcomplier+LE modeling, this missile wont fit into this class due to its complexity and asymmetricity.

and last, bear in mind it wont fly terrain-follow!! Instead i recommend modeling B61 with chute...or SRAM :D

Oh well I guess my little project just died LOL! unless I continue building it with minimal functionality, because hacking is a bit beyond me. Working in 3D studiomax is what I'm learning to get good at, but manipulation is another story. Any hoo, here are the 3D models from studiomax in progression. http://www.geocities.com/dajackal7

Not to burst your bubble, but the B-1 does not carry the -86. It was originally designed to, but it was decided to leave that to the B-52. Also, expanding the forward bay to carry it is against one of those arms limitation treaties (START?). The Bones are only used for conventional operations now, with iron bombs, CBU's, and a couple GPS weapons.

You may want to do the JASSM (http://www.fas.org/man/dod-101/sys/smart/jassm.htm) instead; it will be carried by almost every plane in the inventory, including the Bone.

You are absolutely right Ice Brain, currently being in the US AIrForce myself, I should know better lol, although the -86 is part of the B-52 armament, and the B1 was designed to carry it at first, sinced I like the maintenance heavy B1, I thought I would try it for shouts and giggles. In the meantime can you guys do me a favor and provide me a list of weapons that may be desired that no body has worked on. It will give me something to do on my idle time when I'm not playing Falcon4. Plus it will help me to get better at 3D studiomax.

Image
By the way, I tried posting the pics directly t this page and for some reason they don't show properly. I have done everything correctly but no joy.
