Just wondering if WrpTool is able to import 3ds files and convert to p3d as well as import p3d files and export to 3ds. I'm more used to using 3ds max for this and have already done a few islands in 3ds max but i haven't been able to convert them yet, plus i'd like to try and edit some fo the existing p3d islands from the game in 3ds max if its possible.

That is not possible. WrpTool edits the OFP island WRP files, not the 3d model files.

Direct? No. The official method for visitor is importing MAX exported .asc files, and then you can import the OFPW into WRPtool. Somebody made some conversion utilities to convert (into?) .asc files, but I don't recall if there were any FROM .asc into a WRPtool-related format.
