CATE for 4-byte terrains?
Is it any good to anyone to have a version of CATE wich works with 4-byte terrains?

Absolutely!Malc wrote:Is it any good to anyone to have a version of CATE wich works with 4-byte terrains?
And here is why:
It would disconnect us from the need to work in 2-byte L2/O2s altogether. We could create the L2/O2 using DEM2Terrain and move the L2/O2 immediately to a 4-byte pair. Then do all the work in 4-byte. It would SIMPLIFY the choices out there and make the process more efficient with less margin for error.

You should spend your (coding) time to create new terrain rebuilder (SPTinstall) instead.

I believe Snake Man thinks the current Tinstaller proggie is too resource hungry because it maxes out memory and cpu resources when building the different levels of terrain.Malc wrote:Whats wrong with currently available tinstall programs?Snake Man wrote:You should spend your (coding) time to create new terrain rebuilder (SPTinstall) instead.
