Playing online

8) does anyone have any details about playing online, have you done it?

i know its different than say playing Call of Duty, you cant just walse into a server and fly? or can you? how do you get experience.....

and i`m not sure if my upload/download will be up to it......i have 1mb ADSL.

I have not played Falcon 4 online except few "tests" with Widowmaker a long long time ago.

I would assume you're right, you just cannot "browse servers" and pick one to fly in, you have to setup and plan the mission beforehand with other people, perhaps even go as far as joining some online squadron or something (bit far but still seem very popular).

Also I would like to know, if F4 engine lets dedicated server run 24hrs the campaign with or without any players involved, that would be pretty cool but I cant remember if this was true or am I just dreaming.

check out www.87th.org , we're flying online 24/7/365, and your Adsl is more than good enough. There are however no waltzing in...... You will be trained and prepped to avoid spoiling the fun for others.

you find a zip file called "RL_OF" in utilities folder in falcon 4.0 extract it and run "OF_Rapace_Launcher" to fly online. if you have any trouble write here again and i could give you the details m8. also this setups are for falcon 4.0 OF if you want to fly falcon 4.0 AF multi the thing you only do is write the host ip to ip column in internet connection page in game. on the other hand if you are using a router you have to open 2934 and 2935 TCP and UDP ports too.

Hi, If your running OF just go to openfalcon.org and we can help you get sorted. You can access the teamspeak server through the website. Just jump on and tell one of the 338th guys you want to get set up for online play. We can get your install etc squared away in no time. We fly online everyday and it`s as smooth as silk.
