Campaign Planning Map color poll at Frugals
Since there seems to be a difference of opinion on whether the campaign planning map should be kept the usual PMC yellow or be made darker, I started a poll at Frugals to collect public opinion data to see just what the majority of normal Falcon users would prefer. You can check it out here:

Ok, I checked the poll that has been running at Frugals and as of today it has the following results:
Total votes: 78
Votes for Default Korean "Green" campaign planner map: 64
Votes for Traditional PMC "Yellow" campaign planner map: 14
Most of the comments say that the green background is easier to see the flight path lines or is easier on the eyes.
Recommend we go with the green background on Iran. I already have the graphics done (as you can see in the pics).
Agree? Disagree? Discussion?

Yes we can do that. But we use the CATE bitmap as resource so its 1:1 real map with terrain.

You won't get any argument from me on using the CATE bitmap, but the graphics used to date appear to me to be the output from TerrainView, not CATE. Am I just plain wrong on that?Snake Man wrote:Yes we can do that. But we use the CATE bitmap as resource so its 1:1 real map with terrain.

All theaters except Korea128 uses the terrainview saved bitmap with features on it. Unless I'm mistaken Korea128 campmap should be CATE made one, at least the kneemap.gif is (would have to check if campmap is too).

Ok, if I am understanding you correctly, then if you will knock out a CATE bitmap of Iran I will recolor it to the "green" based color palette. Sound good?Snake Man wrote:All theaters except Korea128 uses the terrainview saved bitmap with features on it. To put it other way, tell me what RGB values use for the map as discussed in the topic I linked in my first post here.

Ok, but I'm not quite sure of what this will look like because the TerrainView map is based on elevations while the CATE bmp map is based on terrain type (as you point out in your previous, older post). Let's try these and see what it looks like:Snake Man wrote:To put it other way, tell me what RGB values use for the map as discussed in the topic I linked in my first post here.
Ocean/Lake = 65, 90, 107
Desert = 170, 156, 115
Mountain light = 170, 140, 97
Mountain Dark = 138, 107, 77
Rough grazing/nomadic herding = 113, 90, 75
Irrigated Farming = 73, 99, 52
pastures/scattered farming = 89, 115, 70
Woodland/forest = 0, 128, 0
City = 208, 80, 0
Road = 111, 16, 0
River = 0, 104, 144
Snowcap = 255, 255, 255
Airbases = 255, 255, 0

All right those values are now entered into my CATE conf file, next time I'm around to create the pass 6, I'll check how it turns out.
Indeed I do not know how it will look since its not elevation based. We'll see.
