iirc the terrain tutorial and related articles are available for quite some so i'm wondering if it's possible to obtain improved dem & dwc data or the sites in the tutorials are still the best option for their price (free fgs! )?

There was this some SRTM elevation data at least in OpenFalcon, but I don't know anything about it except that its supposed to be 250m elevation data while our traditional DEM from tutorials is 1000m.

thanx for the reply, i too am aware of the srtm data that was introduced by B & Z, tho i have no idea if it's possible to obtain this data in a format which dem2terrain can handle to begin with....

Good question...where did b and z get their 250m SRTM data (what source). And could we possibly approach them for using their tools they programmed to convert it to Falcon format?...
