ok I've done till the part of the "ultimate tutorial", bout the IA/TE but not yet the campaign part, so do I have to complete the campaign part or is it optional, and yea I get this error when generating the .map file for my theater, it says "bad pallete file - is it paint shop pro format" after clicking the fartiles.pal from Balkans theater. (in which you would know that balkans theater is an example for making theaters in F4AF)
And yeah thats about all my problems and I believe its because of the .map file that causes CTD but I also wouldn't know if it was either because I haven't done the campaigns yet or because of .map?
I hope this is specific enough for the problems I need solving, thought sorry if I kinda sound unappriciative cause I'm kinda straight-to-the-point kinda person...so forgive me if it hurts from what I've typed..

Well, two points I'd like to make:bulletkid wrote:ok I've done till the part of the "ultimate tutorial", bout the IA/TE but not yet the campaign part, so do I have to complete the campaign part or is it optional, and yea I get this error when generating the .map file for my theater, it says "bad pallete file - is it paint shop pro format" after clicking the fartiles.pal from Balkans theater. 1. There is an old saying that goes something like: "You'll always get more with honey, then you will with vinegar." Good advice to keep in mind when dealing with people...
2. There is a difference between being "straight-to-the-point" and being so "short" that it turns people off from helping you. Remember, people DON"T have to help you. They CHOOSE to help you. So be nice to people and they will choose to help you because they want to...or be short with people and you will meet with a "stone wall" of silence here and at other forums you go to...and you will be frustrated because you can't get the help you need. Just my .02 worth on what I've picked up in my 46 plus years of living on this old planet.

Now to your CTD problem: You will need to work through the entire tutorial; no parts are optional. Falcon relies on files from the different folders whenever doing TEs, Dogfights, Instant Actions or campaigns. Work through the entire tutorial and then come back if you have any questions. And, remember, people CHOOSE to help you because they WANT to...not because they HAVE to...It's your job to make them WANT to help you...and you do that by being nice to them.

You can't edit Allied Force's .tac, .cam or .trn files with TacEdit (it hasn't been updated to work with AF; Julian "Codec" Onions was the programmer who made TacEdit and he now works for Lead Pursuit; we don't expect him to make an update because of this.bulletkid wrote:Ok I'm starting on the campaign since you say I have work the entire tutorial and it then when trying to load the save0.cam in tacedit it says "version 84 not supported" any ideas how do I bypass it, as it says I have to load it up and do some changes?
What you have to do is get a copy of a blank save0.cam file from SuperPak 4.2 version of Falcon 4.0 and use that as your starting point. PM me your email address and I will send you one that I have if you like.

ok, so following the tutorials, I've build the links and all and when it says I have to like run the script create.pak.objectives.tcl, ok I ran it and and so followed the tutorial until at one point it asked me to Build PAK map, an error occures stating no primary objectives...I know that I've placed on that priority 81 thing already?
