Awacs and Tower Radio Transmission

For some reason while i have ODS installed i can't communicated with awacs or the tower on korea or ods but as soon as I uninstall it I can communicate with them. I found some what of a work around that involves switching theatres every time i start the game but other than that I don't know of any perminant fix. If anyone has any ideas could you let me know thx.

You can hear comms/ATC sounds if you switch to ODS -> Korea -> ODS at falcon start?

yeah but if i forget to change my theatre before starting the game i can't hear Awacs or Tower communications. It's very odd.

Weird. OK try this;

go to the terrdata\theaterdefinition directory, use notepad or similar editor to open desstorm.tdf file (its pure text file). Edit the last part where it says:

# sounds dir
#sounddir sounds

So that you uncomment it like this:

# sounds dir
sounddir sounds

Now check out if that helps with the sounds. I have no idea if it works because IT WORKS here with the sounds dir commented out, I have never lost ATC or AWACS comms so far on any of my theaters.

And please report back in here the results of that edit so we all can benefit from them

I tried what you suggested unfortunatly it didn't help. I'm pretty much outta idea's I figure the only option i have left is to uninstall everything and reinstall it all to see if that helps.

Btw now I detected this same thing on my latest ODS mission. no AWACS, no comms, no wingman no nothing

Well I guess its like 10seconds to switch back and forth with Korea everytime you start. Or maybe when you STOP playing ODS, switch to korea. then when you next time start falcon and want to play ODS, switch to ODS. this way you don't need to switch back and forth (well kind of) heh.

Sorry this is not a theater issue, its SP theater switching problem.
