Working with "theater.lst "

Post by Quicksilver »

I wonder how you guys managed to configure the installer programs you use for your other theaters, so that the "theater.lst" file is updated with your theater data.

IIRC, the needed line is added to the existing "theater.lst" file during the installation. Do you use some kind of script for this?

Finally, if I prepare a "theater.lst" file including data for all the popular theaters, which would replace the existing file, would that work OK?

This is the last thing that we need for our theater... any help appreciated! :)

you can add lines with f4p if thats what you are after?

--
[FileName]
theater.lst

[TextInfo]
<ReplaceSubString>,\,\terrdata\theaterdefinition\iceland.tdf
--

dunno if replacing is a good thing
it has lead to problems in the past
I rather not have patches replace theater.lst.

so use a simple f4patch
if you want me to write a patch for you that does that gimmy info on what name it should have and I send it.

We have "theateradd.exe" which adds and removes your theaters tdf entry from the theater.lst file, this is used on ODS, Vietnam, Afghanistan, Europe and Nevada for example.

Unlike the piece of crap installer that overwrites the theater.lst, this works really well without destroying the other entries on there.

SM, that sounds like exactly what we need! Could I ask you for a copy of theateradd.exe? Mail me at beigeflag(at)yahoo.com.

OWWWWWwwwwww!!!

Of course, I just noticed that I already had it in my Falcon folder... is it copied there with other theaters? Probably.

BTW, I'll send you the info on our little theater in a day or two, now that we're finally set. Who do we thank for TheaterAdd?
