Re: Microdem 6
The way to import GIS data into WRPtool is by converting into a LAT/LON raw text array. The easiest way to do this is to import the processed DEM section into Wilbur, then touchup and export into a LAT/LON text file.
From here, you can then load the data set in with "import terrain".
The manual has some pretty extensive sections, and what ever else can be found over at www.ofpec.com in the editors section and in the "Island editing" forum thread.

My old tutorial can still be found over at the web.archive.org site. Look for www.ofp-ojr.info or this link may take you there directly -
http://web.archive.org/web/200210060815 ... o/wrp.html
It may get confusing but I'll try and help the best I can. Shin is right - best way is to convert it to the data you need in Wilbur. Edit - tut was far wrpedit but basics still apply.
I also wrote up a short tut about ASTER data thats over at the opfec.com site - thats for obtainig DEM data from around the world with high rez sat data thats perfect for OFP.

Hi Gren,
Shouldn't WrpTool put more weight on Terra Base II and to read it directly ? By my opinion, Wilbur is not a final solution.

Re: Microdem 6
MidShip,
As far as I know, Micro and Terra are one in the same. The version from the professor is usually updated constantly while the version downloaded from the Army is usually behind since they want to keep things stable. I must admit that I haven't seem the latest versions of Micro/Terra since probably round version 5. Does the newer versions include the ability to skip the Wilbur part of the conversion? If so, I'll look into it more closely. As far as wrptool being concerned with DEM input from Micro/Terra I think they have bigger fish to fry at the moment such as auto road creation. But then I'm biased since thats what I need most right now to save me a buttload of time.
Edit - In the early stages of my DEM "research" for OFP I learned that the VBS version was to have the ability to load DEMS on the fly. My quess is they can pick any "hotspot" in the world and have the program load the DEM info automatically. I would also assume that they can load roads, buildings and such from DLG files and quad-geotif files or whatever other files they have on the fly as well but thats only a quess on my part. Automation of map making for them would be of high priorty I would think. Hopefully, we will see a better implementation of tools with OFP2 because of this.
