I have seen several times people talk about silage being the best yield and money maker, yeah grass is 3.28 liters per square meter which is sky high above barley, but grass is not a grain crop that you harvest with a combine harvester, in order to turn it into silage you have to mow it, bale it and wrap the bale before it ferments into silage over time, or you could do some other further complicated procedure to process loose grass into a silage. Yes you can also do silage by chopping for example growing corn crop into chaff, store it into bunker silo, pack it tight by compacting it driving over it thousand times with a heavy tractor, then cover it for fermenting into silage which obviously finishes as loose silage that you cannot sell in regular selling points. I love doing regular american style corn to silage method cattle feed, but I would never say "its the best money maker in fs22!!1" as so many seem to do. I am talking about regular grain crops here, combine + header, all regular stuff.
When I need to make money in FS22 most often its contracts, fertilizing contracts to be specific, however once I graduate to farming my own land and fields, then its spamming soybeans for the high paying selling price. Yes soybeans yield is not that high and even though canola pays quite well, its not coming even close to the final sum of money you receive if you just field work, harvest and sell the grain at the best market price day.
Also on my Start From Zero savegames once I own all the farmland or just don't need the money anymore, I spam soybeans because yield is not that good so there is less grain cart driving and semi-truck grain trailer hauling and storing to do
BTW interesting thing there is that "meadow", err what is meadow? I mean yeah I've seen it on some terrain editing foliage types, but hmm I never really dig deep into it, what it really is. I assume its "grass but not regular clean grass", like that its grass with some random flowers or kind of "weeds" in it, like a wild grass, dunno how to explain it. If someone knows please feel free to reply some knowledge.
Anyways that crop yield info was lingering in my temporary txt file note for over two weeks now so was time to put it into online, enjoy
