This is my Farming Simulator 22 (FS22) Tree Planting Guide, experienced and learned live as I play my own savegame. Not sure if I ever planted FS22 trees before, but now I am planting some spruces along the edges of my farm yards as wind breakers, just like they do in american farming err in farm yards

Purchase demco PL-75 implement, attach it to a tractor. Then purchase tree saplings, on the buy menu you can select tree types, seems like all in-game tree types are available to buy. Please note that you cant visually see which tree sapling type pallet you have, at least I cant, there seems to be subtle differences but man those saplings look all the same to me.

Refill tree sapling pallet into demco PL-75 tree planter. Drive to your own farmland area, you cannot plant trees to land you do not own, turn on the planter with B hotkey, then lower the planter with V hotkey (defaults) and drive forward, soon first tree sapling is planted and when you drive further more of them get planted.

One tree sapling pallet "refill" has 20 tree saplings. This lasts pretty OK for some farm yard wind breaker decorations, but for large scale logging operations you are going to need a bigger boat, err I mean a lot more sapling pallets.

Three sapling growth time is between 2 and 24 in-game PMCTODO DAYS OR MONTHS?, depending on the tree type. I have no idea which tree has what actual growth duration.

I planted my spruce and pine (and one stone pine or something) tree types on JUNE 1st, this begins the countdown to see how many months it takes for these trees to grow. My savegame is running 9 days "seasons" config.

On another gaming day I planted more trees to another farm yard, this was in-game jun 5th.

Trees get written in savegame directorys "treePlant.xml" config file. There are few settings as shown below.

Also I learned from giants website blog news (image) that spruce is the only tree I want to use, pine and stone pine are not at all the regular well err spruce aka Christmas tree looking trees. Yeah they are pines so kind of the same, but they just look almost completely different, at least to me. Spruce is green thick from ground up, actually its widest on the ground level and gets narrower on the top, pines look almost like "european palm trees"

Its kind of completely different thing but in the end, kind of the same... but in landscaping mode there is tree planting, the terrain config files just need to be setup for additional trees as the bare bones modDesc.xml store items file contain several trees but not all of them, for example spruces are missing. Also I think some bushes might be missing too, flowers as well. Anyways as said kind of different thing.

Its now in-game jul 2nd and I see no visual growth on the planted trees by my first farm yard planting location. So its clear the FS22 tree growth is months instead of days, there has been on changes between jun 5th and jul 2nd on 9 days seasons config.

Its now in-game aug 1st and I cant tell if any growth stages have changed on those planted tree saplings, so I would say that if you cant tell the difference... maybe there are none, I mean it would be silly to create two such similar looking 3d models/textures. I am now somewhat surprised how long time it takes for these trees to start even growing, let alone how many MONTHS it will eventually take for them to grow into adult tree sizes. Not that I'm in any hurry, this was just a fun hobby type thing to decorate farm yard edges a bit, but yeah, call me surprised.
