Yesterday after installing new GIMP v2.10.32 went and painted farmland image so farm yards have their own unique colors. Then created field definitions with single shape to all the fields, this came to 1880 total fields.
Plan was to test it in-game but didn't have the time.

PMC Undefined Farms 20km v0.1.4 update is ready for testing.
This is UNTESTED developer version! Do not, I say again, DO NOT install this and use it for your existing savegames because there could be issues, at least backup your savegame to a safe place along with the official release. I recommend making a brand new mod directory for this testing version and use a new savegame to test it out.
This testing version is publicly available, the first version is still the "main stable" v0.1.3 to download in official homepage.

Edit: 2022-06-17T06:12:00Z penalty_box was testing v0.1.4 in his twitch live stream and there I saw that apparently all the new fields are GRASS, well that is a bug, it was not my intention to have 1800 new grass fields.
I'm going to fix those grass fields and hopefully also remove the AI planting on the new field definitions. Dunno when though, hopefully soon.

Testing v0.1.4 and v0.1.5 download links removed, they are broken piece of shit useless garbage, getting over 1800 multi line errors in the log. Back to the drawing board, bitch. This is what you get when editing without testing it first (my editing computer doesn't run win10).
If you already downloaded either of these versions, no need to send feedback, I'm going to remake the fields at least and there was some error in the farmland image as well.
I have no intentions editing this in the near future so it might take a while.

From no intentions to "it bothered me so much I could not let it go..." heh. Today went and tested new field definitions removed v0.1.6 in actual fs22 to see how it runs, and it does run without errors. Odd as I thought farmland image gave some error, guess not then.
Farmland image now works as designed, farm yards are extremely tight individual land lots, they are super cheap too the smallest one cost 25k which is nothing. I did not edit the overall farmland image so actual fields in most parts have bad land lot assignments. Yeah this is a nuisance, but doesn't prevent you from playing, there is still plenty enough tight lands for fields available. I'll most likely have to completely start from empty image with farmland in order to properly fix the fields, you just cant edit it to fix the issues now. So don't hold your breath when that might happen.

After penalty_box experienced failed oats harvest contract on F471 which was that copy-pasted very small patch, I believe 0.91ha, it was time for me to test it out as well. Here is what happened.
Took contract F592 harvest wheat, deliver to PMC Sell 05. It was closest field to the dealership. F592 is 0.91ha. Contract said need to deliver 12.2k liters. Combine grain tank got full 8.5k liters, then unloaded into tractor trailer. Finished harvesting wheat, combine had 2.2k liters so with grain trailer 8.5k + 2.2k combine == 10.7k, so it falls short of 12.2k liters required amount.
Not sure why that happens, maybe its the puny less than hectare field size, dunno.
Those small copy-pasted 0.91ha fields are temporary placeholders, plan is to increase their size to at least full size "single shape" field definitions, but there are one thousand eight hundred (1800) fields where each requires several mouse clicks to do, I cannot even imagine how many hours it would take to fix all those fields, I can do some for sure no problemos, but absolutely no promises to do a large amount of them.

Edited some field definitions today, all edits were done the dealership neighborhood for short traveling distance. I added two new grass fields too which are medium size. Several of the 0.91ha fields in the N and E areas were increased in size to the regular single shape corner piece standard, those fields are decent size now (don't know hectare count though).
I'm going to try one or two of those fields today to see if harvest contracts work on them, if there is no issue harvesting then most likely FS22 has some issue with tiny fields and harvest contracts.

PMC Undefined Farms 20km v0.1.9 harvest contract test.

2022-12-13T23:14:00Z Started a new career savegame, set everything up and of course F591 and F592 these two new larger fields had no harvest ready crops, F591 had planted cotton haha. So guess I'm time accelerating.
Looks like F321 is growing soybeans, this field is N-NW from the dealership and medium size, this could be my testing field if I'm so lucky to get an harvest contract for it when the time comes. Overall I have to say this testing is quite difficult now because the choices AI made with crops.
2022-12-13T23:30:00Z First I time accelerated 6000 speed, then continued with regular giants farmhouse 5000 speed, however the environment felt like its frozen in time, for example fields were all withered, in july there was SNOW on the ground and huge number of cultivating contracts were available. I did have better contracts lazy AI on for few of contract types, so dunno if that caused AI be just that, lazy.
While typing that above paragraph in-game jul 0954hrs snow melted from the ground and few fields changed stage to cultivated, so guess there is now something going on in the background, but for this year of course soybeans etc planting season is over already.
I'm speculating that 6000 speed time acceleration is too fast for 1888 fields to be calculated, same as all production stuff gets frozen with that speed as well, the highest safe time acceleration speed in my PMC Super Six 6km production savegame was 5000.
In-game oct 0923hrs slowly one by one fields get cultivated by the AI.

On new savegame we got sorghum on F591 but it was still growing. In-game sep 0935hrs sorghum was harvest ready and I started to refresh contracts with dollar signs in my eyes.
Hammered refresh but unfortunately F591 sorghum harvest did not materialize, oh well time accelerating to the next day, hopefully then. But uh oh, my bad, sorghum harvest season ended september

Hmm looks like I just started GPS without checking width, it now looks REALLY wide but still just barely cuts all the crop, hmm ok. Header was 3020 terraflex 25ft and GPS was configured to 9.14m width.
2022-12-14T00:21:00Z Combine grain tank 96% at end of a row, going to grab tractor + grain trailer.
2022-12-14T00:23:00Z Combine unloaded and harvesting continues.
2022-12-14T00:29:00Z Combine full, unloading.
2022-12-14T00:36:00Z Combine full, unloading, and while that is going on I'm going to unload myself in the head

Grain trailer is now full, combine was left with 4.6k liters in the tank. Continuing harvesting.
2022-12-14T00:50:00Z Combine full, driving tractor and grain cart to selling point.
2022-12-14T00:52:00Z Arrived at the selling point, contract HUD shows 80% complete, grain trailer has 37.5k liters, contract menu shows worked field 99.2%.
Dumped the trailer, contract said 74% transported and contract progress is now 95% with 11.7k liters to go. Okay back to the field to pick up the rest.
2022-12-14T00:56:00Z Combine unloaded, continuing the last half pass.
2022-12-14T00:57:00Z Harvest complete and last grain unloaded into grain trailer which now has 10.9k liters which is not enough... but going to drive to the selling point anyways.
2022-12-14T01:00:00Z Dumped grain to selling point, contract status now 100% got 366 profit from the remaining crop.
Wow did not see that coming, contract just BARELY managed to finish with the grain I got from the field. Hmm hmm. This is not good in overall, this is 3.7ha field and my speculation was that too small field doesn't work properly but apparently that is not the case, 3.7ha should be plenty of big elmcreek wise.
Hmm dunno whats going on.
Refreshed tons of new harvest contracts, browsed through all of them and in average you could say that "can keep" liters in these 0.91ha fields is about 500-700 liters which is ridiculously small amount, but then again so is the hectare size, so yeah dunno.

2022-12-14T08:08:00Z Harvest contract wont complete issue kept nagging me, so decided to try with my current mod-set on elmcreek to see if that works. A reference point so to speak.
Started farm-manager game-mode on elmcreek, better contracts v1.2.6 was loaded. Refreshed contracts, got one for F46 which had "can keep" of 100 liters, wow one hundred whole liters, really? Haha.
Hmm that number looks even worse than PMC Undefined Farms 20km v0.1.9 numbers, let me take that contract and see what happens. Okay so F46 harvest contract for oat, field size 0.29ha whoah, must deliver 2k liters. F46 is the new farmer game-mode owned field.
2022-12-14T08:16:00Z Started harvesting F46.
2022-12-14T08:21:00Z Finished harvesting F46, combine grain tank got 2137 liters of oats, so I don't even need to deliver this as I can already tell that you can complete this contract with whopping 137 extra liters I can keep.
2022-12-14T08:23:00Z Aaand then I got bored, had no desire to go try out some other harvest contracts, what I saw earlier in PMC Undefined Farms 20km v0.1.9 and now here, it suggests pretty much that these harvest contracts "can keep" numbers have been GREATLY reduced by giants patch, not sure which one.

Hmm looks like I just started GPS without checking width, it now looks REALLY wide but still just barely cuts all the crop, hmm ok. Header was 3020 terraflex 25ft and GPS was configured to 9.14m width.

Grain trailer is now full, combine was left with 4.6k liters in the tank. Continuing harvesting.
2022-12-14T00:50:00Z Combine full, driving tractor and grain cart to selling point.
2022-12-14T00:52:00Z Arrived at the selling point, contract HUD shows 80% complete, grain trailer has 37.5k liters, contract menu shows worked field 99.2%.
Dumped the trailer, contract said 74% transported and contract progress is now 95% with 11.7k liters to go. Okay back to the field to pick up the rest.
2022-12-14T00:56:00Z Combine unloaded, continuing the last half pass.
2022-12-14T00:57:00Z Harvest complete and last grain unloaded into grain trailer which now has 10.9k liters which is not enough... but going to drive to the selling point anyways.
2022-12-14T01:00:00Z Dumped grain to selling point, contract status now 100% got 366 profit from the remaining crop.
Wow did not see that coming, contract just BARELY managed to finish with the grain I got from the field. Hmm hmm. This is not good in overall, this is 3.7ha field and my speculation was that too small field doesn't work properly but apparently that is not the case, 3.7ha should be plenty of big elmcreek wise.
Hmm dunno whats going on.
Refreshed tons of new harvest contracts, browsed through all of them and in average you could say that "can keep" liters in these 0.91ha fields is about 500-700 liters which is ridiculously small amount, but then again so is the hectare size, so yeah dunno.

2022-12-14T08:08:00Z Harvest contract wont complete issue kept nagging me, so decided to try with my current mod-set on elmcreek to see if that works. A reference point so to speak.
Started farm-manager game-mode on elmcreek, better contracts v1.2.6 was loaded. Refreshed contracts, got one for F46 which had "can keep" of 100 liters, wow one hundred whole liters, really? Haha.
Hmm that number looks even worse than PMC Undefined Farms 20km v0.1.9 numbers, let me take that contract and see what happens. Okay so F46 harvest contract for oat, field size 0.29ha whoah, must deliver 2k liters. F46 is the new farmer game-mode owned field.

2022-12-14T08:21:00Z Finished harvesting F46, combine grain tank got 2137 liters of oats, so I don't even need to deliver this as I can already tell that you can complete this contract with whopping 137 extra liters I can keep.
2022-12-14T08:23:00Z Aaand then I got bored, had no desire to go try out some other harvest contracts, what I saw earlier in PMC Undefined Farms 20km v0.1.9 and now here, it suggests pretty much that these harvest contracts "can keep" numbers have been GREATLY reduced by giants patch, not sure which one.
Here is quote from unreleased Start From Zero in undefined farms:
Cant remember how big field F30 was, but it was one of those medium if not giants wise big fields. So that was may 2022 and only couple of thousand liters of "can keep", so dunno what game engine patch was released in may.2022-05-08T02:58:47Z Accepted harvesting contract F30, delivery to PMC Sell 08, borrowed vehicles.
2022-05-08T05:26:33Z Finished harvesting sunflowers contract F30.
2022-05-08T05:46:48Z Semi-truck final delivery, contract obviously got completed, but I am surprised why it was this close, only couple thousand liters to go after the contract finished.
Collected harvest contract reward for F30, got 22.5k.

Used better contracts v1.2.6.2 which gave me contracts for example on fields: 593, 523, 292, 544, 554, 293, 466, 600, 279, 556, 493 to mention few. These are the new fields in last few days, after the big 1888 and the corner piece enlarge updates.

Been playing a temporary savegame on PMC Undefined Farms 20km for the past, uh oh it feels like three weeks now, time just have escaped me as I'm living in this terrains and savegames universe, its like nothing else matters hah, but guess its a good thing to escape real world sometimes, like right now when those website hosting and domain registration fees loom over me, scary stuff.
I have written down several bug reports, ideas, tweaking suggestions and just general game-play feedback from v0.2.7 of this terrain, been having a blast, getting my juices flowing with ideas and brainstorming things.
But also there are several realizations that kind of depress me, for example the farm yard heightmap elevations situation, just yesterday I had to purchase a large, overkill size, farm yard which was the closest one enough level so I could place the giants dairy cow barn placeable building without breaking the whole heightmap around it

Fundamental Design Doc Image Resolution Problem
in short: cultivator_density low res jagged edges.
MAYBE. Just maybe, there is a fundamental GIMP design doc fs22terrain image resolution problem with cultivator_density how fields are created because in PMC Undefined Farms 20km v0.2.7 all field edges are jagged, that kind of traditional pixel roughness jaggedness, I always thought that it is what it is, but today 2025-10-10T13:55:36Z I decided to take Case IH Tiger-Mate 255 deep cultivator, use "allow create fields" mode in F1 menu, then do a smooth driving headline to one of my fields. The result was CLEARLY SMOOTHER than what comes out of default terrain project cultivator_density image. WHY?
So inspect your GIMP design doc image resolution, if this was lets say 8192 x 8192 or even smaller and you used the scaling up pixels thing like 1 pixel is 4 meters or something, well guess what genius, this is applied to fucking field edges in the form of pixel jaggedness rough look which is obviously not only looking bad, but it causes courseplay-gui garbage to generate horrible headlands on field edges where AI driver steers the vehicle like he is having a seizure of some sorts, for example the tractor/vehicle slows down probably 50% on those "micro turns" it takes as waypoints on the field edge are created way too detailed way too many zigging and zagging left and right like tractor being an allied convoy ship in U-Boot infested north atlantic waters. at worst I've seen John Deere 9620 RX (which is the worst, articulated tractor) to pull Case IH Tiger-Mate 255 deep cultivator at 15km/h speed on straight waypoint lines but on the zig-zag headlands field edges it slows to a crawl of 4km/h speed, that is so frustrating you want to jump outta the window, screaming
If this is truly the case that GIMP design doc XCF file is generating jagged edge fields then it has to be fixed one way or the other.
One somewhat bad way would be to match design doc XCF image resolution to terrain size, on PMC RedWhiteBlue 10km this would be still doable, 10240 x 10240 pixel XCF image with close to 10 layers would be doable with 32gb RAM, however larger than that like 20km terrains, not so much, I remember earlier GIMP versions struggling to edit PMC Rattler satellite mask image I believe it was or some other image I had for it, might have been satellite texture I don't remember and its not important, but 20480 x 20480 pixel XCF with multiple layers is no bueno.
Besides, such massive design doc XCF images would still have to be reduced to cultivator_density giants editor acceptable little girlie men pixel res sizes.
But this fundamental design doc FS22 terrain issue absolutely must be fixed, figure it the fuck out, then get it done. I will not want to play one single FS22 session anymore with jagged edge fields (cultivator_density) which cause courseplay-gui garbage headland field work courses that drive you the fuck outta your mind.

Edit 2025-10-10T14:20:25Z, unfortunately courseplay-gui garbage still reduces tractor speed with the zig-zag field edges on my very first field that I plowed just slightly larger, this while it is yes partly PMC terrain issue, it definitely is courseplay-gui garbage issue by creating way too detailed waypoints on field edge headlands. At least the cultivator_density in my savegame, whatever resolution it is (I hope its 16384 x 16384 pixels) is not going to make courseplay-gui garbage to generate smooth line between field corners on a straight edge. Who knows perhaps its about the diagonal nature of my fields, there isnt a single straight 0, 90, 180 or 270 degree field edge in this terrain, they are all diagonal in direction. So yeah dunno in the end, even if original terrain project source cultivator_density and fruit_density would be 16k res and done with high res source, it might still not fix the crazy courseplay-gui garbage AI driver issue after all, hmm.

Just maybe, there is a fundamental GIMP design doc fs22terrain image resolution problem with cultivator_density how fields are created because in PMC Undefined Farms 20km v0.2.7 all field edges are jagged, that kind of traditional pixel roughness jaggedness, I always thought that it is what it is, but today 2025-10-10T13:55:36Z I decided to take Case IH Tiger-Mate 255 deep cultivator, use "allow create fields" mode in F1 menu, then do a smooth driving headline to one of my fields. The result was CLEARLY SMOOTHER than what comes out of default terrain project cultivator_density image. WHY?
