Too Long, Didn't Read (TLDR): Farming Simulator 25 (FS25) + Giants Editor v10.0.3 are buggy, large terrains cant be created/ported, there are no mods, just too many bugs and issues, its time to give FS25 some time to develop so I'm stopping editing/playing it but will keep active in the website and forum.

As I'm writing this text I'm playing FS25 so it might be odd to have such topic header up, "fs25 sux I'm back to old games!!1", indeed it might appear that way.
But lets take a look at the facts, many people around the community are blasting Giants and FS25 for being basically a beta release quality, even with the new v1.3 update for the game and Giants Editor v10.0.3 things are looking quite grim. Huge texture and level of detail (LOD) issues in-game, errors in the log (sheep barn wool pallet spawning fails with error, steering assist errors out at end of the row on plowed fields etc), GE requires huge amounts of VRAM (countless people are having GPU problems), large terrains in FS25 require insane amounts of RAM like above 20 gigabytes, unitsPerPixel causes ground detail texture low resolution bug, man the list goes on and on... I've tried to be positive, give giants time and benefit of the doubt, but I guess this is the end of the road for me as well now, I cant just wear rose colored glasses to look things with giants fantasy world view anymore.
There are no good mods for FS25 yet, now this is obviously not giants or the games fault that goes without saying, but right now if I spend any time playing FS25 it feels like a waste of time; no autodrive, no courseplay, no GPS (well OK Enhanced Vehicle mod just came out which is decent GPS mod) and various other quality of life mods. This is only one nail in the big coffin and as we have all experienced this through each and every game launch, this will be fixed over time of several months or few years, what if tomorrow we get basic functionality autodrive and courseplay releases, yeah that would be a big thing all by itself. I hate this premise that with every new game engine the mod community and therefore main player base is thrown 3 years back in time to "play with sticks and stones" so to speak, I mean just, JUST as we started to get autodrive and especially courseplay into very enjoyable level (courseplay is still GUI garbage but I'll ignore that for now), boom we get a new game engine and guess what, no autodrive, no courseplay, welcome aboard, drive manually and carefully, enjoy... yeah right.
I'm trying not to ramble on and on about crap, you guys don't want to read wall of text mumbling from sekret PMC k0delabs

What I will do is continue watching and collecting intelligence from the community and obviously from giants, I read their forum, website blog and giants developer network for any news especially those related to terrain engine. I will monitor, download and archive any good new mods, I will document those in farming-simulator.org website.
My website work continues without interruptions (shut up, I know some of you are asking "continues? bro, you haven't even begun yet!?" and that is correct haha), plan is to add editing tutorials and playing guides along with new mods etc type info, any info I can get my hands on that would help player farmers or editing enthusiasts. I will continue learning GE v10 and documenting it (but no editing).
Oh did I even mention this yet, I am considering, almost 98.7% (heh) decided that I will open dedicated "general editing" section for regular vehicle/equipment mods and LUA scripting section as well besides the bread and butter of farming-simulator.org which has always been terrain editing tutorials.
Work will continue on web pages, share any and all information I get, also I try not to make any "local notes" ie private notes unless they are "sensitive privacy" info in nature, so you will see me spamming topics and posts here at PMC Tactical Forum a lot.
I have been considering this for several days, actually probably since hours after nov 12th FS25 game release when I realized that riverbend springs is one farmland one field configuration, now this has been rumored to be false, I have not tested it myself yet but I was told that you can have two or more fields per farmland. Point being that I've been considering walking away from FS25 editing/playing for weeks now, seriously for the past few days. Dunno what changed today that I decided to write this topic (which starts to look like another wall of text, aww crap haha), but as I'm playing on my "PMC mapUS 4km" useless little girlie men terrain and mow some grass, actually baling it to 180cm round bales (7.5k liters per grass bale), I just cant help but feel like I'm wasting my life away playing FS25 right now in this state in this community (bugs, tools, hardware requirements etc), so decided that after this farming/gaming session its back to HTML web work, FS19 and FS22 editing and playing.
Man it will be so glorious to get back to the roots, playing some Start From Zero PMC Grande Gardens 16km savegame, maybe some of those massive absolutely insanely huge savegames I have for my FS22 terrains, I cant describe in words how much I love those 20km, 32.7km, 40km and 45km terrains (and sure yeah 10.2km as well), the sheer size just makes you humble, you feel like insignificant insect in the big wide open world when one semi-truck grain hauling trip takes half an hour, ONE WAY, that is just wild, you cant experience that in FS19 or FS25, especially as bulk of the community are just pushing out little girlie men terrains.
Hmm, going to bale last few rows of this grass field and see what closing remarks I could come up with

One thing I forgot to mention and cant be bothered to go fit this part of the text into above so the "story would flow" naturally, is that how ground deformation is done, how big of a game selling new feature it has been for giants, I have no illusion that they would fix it not to mention remove or add option to disable it, so that large terrains would work again. I am not sure whats the deal is with unitsPerPixel being broken where ground detail textures turn into low resolution blur. I'm still undecided what I think giants has done here, one possibility is that they simply don't even know what they have broken with ground deformation implementation, another is that they know and did this knowingly because money is on conzole peasants and small terrains in general "Pfft! we don't need to support american communities and large terrains", but the overall end result which ever possibility is true, is very bad for the future of Giants Engine, ie for us large terrain community guys.
BTW I wrote big part of this text while I exited FS25 due error in the game log, I was within view distance of my sheep barn and all of the sudden it threw and error about some wool pallet spawning, so felt like a good time to spend few minutes writing this text without having to worry my tractor driving into crops at the background.
At this point I had to go back and re-read what I wrote above so I don't start to repeat the same things, break was several minutes away from FS25 in-game and all.

This is now like what, three hours later, boy time sure flies when you're farming. Anyways just proof read this text up until here and everything is in check, I have not changed my mind especially now as it seems like that sheep barn keeps giving error in the log and that animal operation failed. I cant wait to get back to FS19/FS22 editing and playing, now I actually miss all the FS22 mods and terrains, man how cool it is to play with FS22 Better Contracts mod on those Start From Zero savegames or when such savegame grows and you have sick 5 claas lexion 8900 combine harvesters with midwest durus 18.2m headers being chased with 5 huge tracked tractors pulling massive demco 2200 dual auger grain carts around the field, oh boy!

I have to say I'm extremely disappointed about FS25, Giants Editor v10.0.3 and how it all plays together, in short how giants killed large terrain possibilities.
Okay now I'm going to shut my mouth and end this text, if you read all the way through here just remember that I am NOT going anywhere, in fact my activity basically increases in forum and website, new pages come up and actually now I feel like maybe new round of editing for FS22 terrains, there are few leftover bugs which I meant to fix a long long time ago already, now it feels like perfect time to get into that.

Just finished one last hoorrah attempt to get 6.1 kilometer x 6.1 kilometer terrain working in GE v10.0.3 but it was a no go, ground textures turn into low resolution blur, so this is it, I now have fire in my heart to post this text even though last night was undecided and didn't, now I have no such reservations, I am so done with FS25 editing attempts, so everything I said above stands and few minutes from now I'll be launching... hmm I think its going to be Start From Zero PMC Cereal Region 32km in FS22
