Farming Simulator 25 (FS25) ground deformation was mentioned earlier in FS25 Pre-Release News page, it features commentary and good screenshots from video preview of tractor driving across the field leaving tire tracks to the field surface. If you haven't read it through yet I highly recommend it.

That guy in giants website blog article, kind of interview I guess, apparently is their conzole peasant programmer, so yeah of course giants CEO is who makes the final decision but in a way conzole peasant programmer is like a co-conspirator or whatever the term was, he is as guilty as the guy who gives the orders... guilty of holding back FarmSim game engine development to its full potential, or I guess just creating brand new engine from scratch leaving that conzole crap behind or at least away from the normal computer version.

Yes of course I blame conzoles for all FarmSim problems, but come on man, don't you? (guys in general).

Can some of the stuff he mentioned in the interview improve my ability to create 45km terrain? Umm I didn't see it outright from the article, but who knows maybe I need to re-read it today I was quite tired last night reading it just before going to bed. But yeah I just didn't see anything ground breaking there.

If you guys want to be hyped about that ground deformation interview article then fine I'm happy for you, but be very very cautious with your expectations, I am the first guy at Nov 12th 2024 to say I told you so... if things are not improving with large terrain editing at all.

Don't get me wrong, nothing would make me happier than FS25 improving terrain engine technology, to help me to make current size terrains more detailed or to make even larger ones. Although if 45km is not big enough FARMING terrain, dunno what would be heh. I truly hope I'm wrong about FS25 that it would blow my mind with new Giants Engine v10 changes.

Cant wait for nov 12th 2024 to find out, I'm ready.

I wish someone could create a module to essentially boost the performance of the game engine (for singleplayer, like an extension almost) but i understand that will be damn near, if not impossible.

Glad to hear from you snake!
Giants said that the GDM file processing will be 30 times faster and in parts so i hope that will help reduce stuttering in big maps, thus making us able to use bigger GDM files, have more precision and bigger maps
hope the hype is worth it

Hmm I'm using 16,384 x 16,384 pixel resolution density images for huge PMC terrains, but infoLayer image res is already 32,768 x 32,768 pixels, if we have to increase that... you do realize that next power of two resolution is 65,536 x 65,536 pixels. GIMP will choke on such resolutions ;)

I still have a todo task laying around to test irregular size density images, but there is faint recollection that it doesn't work, that giants editor v8 and v9 screams at you if you try to load like 10,240 x 10,240 pixel resolution cultivator_density for example, but this would need testing and documenting to finally make it official.

But yeah, I do hope giants engine v10 allows us to use 32k density images, that would definitely help with the field crop details.
