First post updated with more specific rules, completely forgot to point out that no autodrive, courseplay or guidancesteering (GPS) before you own a vehicle and farm land. I have made that mistake several times since 2019 which is embarrassing ;)

Last night I played just for fun in PMC Iowa Garden City 8km v1.1.11, wrote down basic steps HOWTO get started playing Start From Zero savegame regarding FS19 Seasons v1.3.2 and field work contracts. Updated first post, you'll find the text in 2024-02-01T03:50:00Z timestamp.

Addenum for Start From Zero rules. First post updated.
  • no money making placeables (as they can be abused for silly amount of money)
Money making placeables such as solar panels and wind turbines can be abused to make absolutely ridiculous amount of money, so they are a cheat. This is for Farming Simulator 19 (FS19) but for Farming Simulator 22 (FS22) you have even more money making cheater placeables such as greenhouses. These will not be allowed in Start From Zero savegames.

It would not even make any point of farming anymore if all you need to do for money is to time accelerate 5000 speed for days and days to collect millions each day, its just pure craziness.

Currently proof reading Start From Zero PMC Iowa Garden City 8km savegame story and ideas come to mind when words cross my eyes, wrote down a quick overview of one possible progression path. This is somewhat rough quick write. Here it is below.

New Start From Zero savegame progression idea

Road map how to get into good vehicles + money; do mandatory harvest, cultivating or plowing contract to get initial fertilizer money, then do fertilizing contracts with borrowed vehicles. Once enough money for your own bredal k165 with extensions and spreader discs, buy it and only use it for fertilizing contracts and contract borrowed tractor to pull it. Next big step is to gain enough money to buy your own tractor to pull the spreader and then farmland after which you start to use autodrive, courseplay and guidancesteering (GPS). Then do contracts with your tractor + bredal and slowly start to buy "The Best" equipment, first might be rubicon 9000 + UTTS-32000 liquid tanker trailer, this would cover your spraying needs. Then big bourgault air drill or seed hawk for planting season. Then finally claas lexion 8900 with midwest durus 18.2m header for harvest seasons. Now when you own "The Best" equipment you can start to use them for contracts and make even more money. After doing this a while you quickly realize that all your equipment are there, they are "The Best" and now all you need to do is to buy decent size farmland and setup your very first own farm yard + field(s).

This might be split to phases;
  1. harvest, cultivating, plowing or weeding contract to make money for fertilizer
  2. fertilizing contracts with borrowed vehicles until buying bredal k165 with extensions and spreader discs
  3. fertilizing contracts with borrowed vehicles until buying own tractor to pull your bredal
  4. fertilizing contracts until buying farmland when you get to use autodrive, courseplay and GPS automation tools
  5. fertilizing contracts using courseplay for some borrowed vehicles and GPS manual driving for your own tractor(s)
  6. fertilizing contracts until buying the best sprayer, which helps you do more fertilizing/spraying contracts
  7. fertilizing contracts until buying the best seeder/planter
  8. contracts until buying the best combine harvester
  9. contracts until buying your own farm yard + field(s) farmland area(s)
  10. work your own fields 100% fertilized, plowed, limed and sprayed while buying all the farmland
  11. no fert, plow, lime, spray of soybeans planting and harvesting spam until all fields have been harvested
  12. the end, victory, savegame has been finished
Instead of stuffing this rough first draft into my own local notes where it benefits nobody except me, decided to put it online straight away, now everyone benefits :)
