I have a slimy question.. (pun intended)..
Slime lights.. what would you prefer to see..
Slime lights are a nickname for those green/yellow formation lights (band) found on A-10, F/A-18's and F-35. They lit up greenish during the night.

How are they employed in real life? In other words, which selection in the poll above is the most realistic?

During the night on (non blinking) but that can't be switched on or off in F4 since there is no switch for it. I can imagine that during "fence in" you don't want to give your position away (multi-player game?)...

right, in F4 there not really lights light strobe ones, there no switch for it . If I remember there simulated on all time but during day you don't notice them as ambient lighting is high enough .JanHas wrote:During the night on (non blinking) but that can't be switched on or off in F4 since there is no switch for it. Edit: Isn't switch 8 them (F16b40 ) ?

Switch 7 - tail strobe, 8 - wingtip lights, 9 - landing lights.
The wingtips can be set to non flashing while ON but standard is that the wingtips will flash, AI will always have them set to blinking..

ok, Is that the same across most F4 versions , SPx , AF , OF , FF ?JanHas wrote:Switch 7 - tail strobe, 8 - wingtip lights, 9 - landing lights.

I looked in LE on AF F16 and seems switch 8 is by inner lower body on each side of inlet .
Would be nice for another switch that could be activated during night or at least night landing near AB and on ground (also so AI turns it on/off ) .
Anyway , I would say on ac with no switches just leave them on as I doubt you notice them much during daylight .

I haven't checked since it's intended for OF.
I use the same switches as for the landing gear doors and refueling. So when the landing gear is lowered or when the refueling hatch opens the lights come on.

Re: Slime lights question/poll
That would work I guess .
Only issue i can think of using other switches (than light ones) is the AI only see's ones connected to lights (lights on ac stands out more for AI )
