I try "perl mkpal.pl xfartile.pal fartiles.pal" from the command line and I get a load of guff for output, but no new file called fartiles.pal is being written!

Can anyone remember how to use mkpal.pl script?
I try "perl mkpal.pl xfartile.pal fartiles.pal" from the command line and I get a load of guff for output, but no new file called fartiles.pal is being written!
