PLAAF new IR AAM..

PL-10 (K/AKK-10?) is the next generation IR-guided missile in the same class as AIM-9X, ASRAAM and IRIS-T. It features an IIR seeker and TVC, giving the missile a 90° off-boresight angle and excellent IRCCM capability against aerial target maneuvering at high-g. It also has a "lock-after-launch" capability. The development of PL-10 was approved in 2004 and the missile is projected to be certified by 2010.

an infrared short range all-aspect air-to-air missile, can be carried by various types of fighters including the Ching-Kuo IDF to achieve air superiority.

we can also overwirte the name of AIM-9G into Sky Sword-I via f4browse, they are looking pretty same,... but modyfiy it's DB (All-aspect, greater range,...)

A new long-range AAM (PL-21?) is believed to be under development. Based on some of the PL-12 technology, PL-21 appears similar to British Meteror. It features an active radar seeker and an integrated ramjet/solid rocket motor with a single belly air intake. PL-21 also features 4 small stabilzing fins behind the active radar seeker, a characteristics of Russian R-27/AA-10. Small datalink antennas may be installed in the tail section for mid-course correction. The effective range of PL-21 is expected to be >100km. The missile might be carried by the new J-11B fighter for long-range interception.

The 01 prototype of the new J-10B was unveiled in March 2009, 3 months after its maiden flight in December 2008. This much improved variant features a DSI which not only saves weight but also reduces RCS, after a similar design being tested onboard FC-1/JF-17. The aircraft also features a J-11B style IRST/LR and a wide-angle holographic HUD. Its nose appears flatter too, similar to that of American F-16, and radar is thought to be PESA, the first of such type ever being developed for a Chinese fighter aircraft. The tip of vertical tailfin was redesigned as well, featuring a large EW fairing, which resembles that of French Mirage 2000. All these improvements suggest that J-10B is equipped with a new generation of integrated electronic system, ranging from radar to EW system. Its mission may be changed from air-superiority to multi-purpose. In addition, J-10B is expected to be powered by an indigenous WS-10A turbofan.

small yellow circles are Hawk . Almost each major taiwanese AFB has a hawk unit.
small red circle are HQ-2.
medium red cirlce on taiwan is Tien-kung I SAM( skybow I ). range about 100km.
large red circle on taiwan is patriot or Tien-kung II, range about 200km. note - this pic is outdated.. some earlier TK I bases could have TK II now.
large red circle on china is S-300 PMU-1, blue circle is its radar coverage, range about 100km. note - this pic does not reflect the latest deployment. china do have S-300PMU-2 that over 200km now. Also the map does not show coverages of new HQ SAM.

PLAN towed the retrofitting carrier to a new shipyard.. seems plan to add some sophisticated stuff.
FWIW the hull is polished and repainted. new bridge structure looks a bit different from Kuz.. i mean the shape.. maybe they want to fit domestic phase array radar.

derstef - what you need is a capable Database editor. im just a lod supplier. that's it.

long time ago i did try to do database editing but - no joy.. and hurt my brain cells. i refuse to touch this field. never.

more photos reveal PLAAF plans to use domestic weapons on J-11B. photos shows J11B has modified wingtip rail for PL-8.. the PL-8 has bigger wingspan than AA-11.
The max AA loadout config could be four PL-8, plus four-six rounds of PL-12!

J-15 is undoubtedly a copy of SU-33..

I don't think so. PRC never got any Su-33. They never saw them inside. It is hard to copy something if you never see it.

IMHO J-15 is a modoification of J-11 by using the knowledge and intel the PRC could buy or steal.

Some key shipborne aircraft technologies such as landing/navigational systems are believed to have been obtained from Russia and Ukraine. One Su-33 prototype (T-10K-3) was acquired from Ukraine around 2001 and has been studied extensively.

they did got a solid prototype years ago.
Of course the onboard avonics is upgraded extensively with latest technology.

The helicopter features a narrow forward fuselage and a tandem cockpit layout similar to those of Z-10. It is thought to retain the same aft fuselage, engine and rotor system from Z-9WA which speeds up the development. The Z-19 project is expected to complement even compete with the heavier Z-10 attack helicopter from Changhe which has been long delayed by the engine problem.

well.. feel free to build them.
just keep in mind - today the most difficult part is not 3d modelling.
For theater/campaign mod, a 3ds model must be converted into usable format, intergrated into 3d database, set up all data linkings, then test run in falcon world. All theaters need modders that can do this job badly.. then we can have more variety of 3d stuff in sim.

The latest image indicated that the locally produced Kh-31A (YJ-91A?) has entered the service with PLAN H-6G anti-ship missile carrier.

the main body looks like mig1.44, the front section like F22+F35+DSI intake.
the big red star with yellow lining on fully-movable vertical stab is PLA mark, with chinese characters "eight-one".

Annual highway takeoff/landing exercise held at Ma-dou. Tainan, on Apr 12, 2011.
ac landed with minimal AA ordance, then reloaded with more AAM or AG weapons.
note - mirage2k is configured as pure AA with four mica EM and two magic. viper is configured as ASM with two harpoons, and FCK-1 as CAS/interdiction, with six mk82. also AH-1W is armed with two Aim-9S.
Meanwhile, news said PRC also practicing amphibious landing somewhere in SE china, with latest LPD ship and LCAC.
