Development of the upcoming PMC Korea 128 Theater v0.3 is underway.
I decided to add 1980's campaign to the theater so now I added the database for aircraft loadout modifications for that era (roughly the Europe theater style). I edited the campaigns to reflect some 80's aircrafts but its just work in progress, some list will be posted later, feel free to suggest aircraft list for 80's scenario. I started to link the theater as it was not complete, it was about 30% done before and now were getting it done in nice pace, should not take many days until its completely linked which is essential to a decent campaign. There is some problems with the airbases leveling, hopefully latest Europe CATE conf files will fix many of the existing problems. Finally I'd like to add more specific sites like army bases, sam sites, nuke plants and such things into the theater, perhaps we could seek out new realism data for this instead of looking Microprose objects, but I guess that will do also if nobody is willing to do some research.
Anyways just wanted to let anyone up to speed that developent is underway and if anyone is willing to help it would be much appreciated. Even the research data would be very valuable, how about 30mins on google and a post in this topic tonight? Heheh

Completely forgot to mention todays update, now the linking is complete. It is so nice to have another theater with links done which means another more complete theater for us to use.
I think there should be a release candidate for v0.3, as many of them as necessary if someone finds bugs that can be corrected quickly, mostly the tough testing would be done for the installer, so that it really installs properly on all F4 configurations.
As Korea 128 is the first theater for this christmas release and it will show us if the installer really works, I want to do it right so then all the other theater's installer updates will be very easy to accomplish.
Anyways there is still to fix the major airbase levelings and to tweak that now 70's planned campaign database, and hmm what else... dunno, the release is no further away than couple of days I think.

Before we moving into '70/'80 database editing, i hope we can test if the war can reach an end...the all-the-time first priority.
The only 128 campaign i won is 1991ODS by capturing Kuwait city. i want to know if 128Korea can do it.. such as Blue capture Wonson/Pyong'yang, or Red capture Pusan.

( AA - mostly use rear-aspect IRAAM, low-reliablility SARH AAM. minimal or none chaff/flare.
AG - mostly dumb bomb, naplam, few cluster. even fewer PGM. SAM hit rate low. heavy AAA. the pleasure is dogfight in less-menuvorable ac, gun and rear-aspect IRAAM play major role. AG strike counts on eyeball. )

Thanks for the list ccc, I appreciate it, just kind of initial dev feedback I required. I'll try to implement that into the 1970's scenarios and then just prepare for the first release candidate so we can take the next step; test the dreaded installer.
And yes, I know about the campaign victory conditions and will make sure triggers are set. I am unable to do anything further for ground unit movement, links are there, ground units are there, we use korean tile-set, if ground units dont move its beyond my control. So I'll take that into mind and create some fail-safe trigger for like ending the campaign in 30 days or try to implement the supply level dropping (bombing into stone age) which to my knowledge doesnt work but its a nice idea anyways. So yeah, I'm on it.

I ran into some 3D CTD, its repeated every time I fly, hmm maybe its from terrain or that there is some aircraft being used which causes CTD in RV as thats what I'm using now to test. Will investigate, but this has set back the timetable for little bit.

What happened was I entered into the 3d world, killed my aircraft, choose the resume mission on the end mission dialog and then used action view to keep viewing the war. Actually I wasnt looking at it moment of the crash, I left it running and went out for 60mins... so dunno what point in time it crashed.

The christmas rush is getting closer and we must get these theaters tested and released. So without further yapper here is the first release candidate of Korea 128.
--- fixes v0.3
- linking completed for the whole theater.
- tweaked terrain for more airbase leveling, hopefully works better now.
- tweaked existing campaigns like moving helos to armybase instead of airbase.
- added a theater specific database, for the 1970's era weapon loadouts.
- added 1970's era campaign using mostly older aircrafts.
- added AF user interface.
- added RV user interface.
- installer fails on AF only systems, fixed.
Please be thorough when you test this, I've kind of worked this along with Taiwan and I'm pretty sure I goofed something up with the installer or theater itself. Feedback is the only thing that gets these theaters fixed, in this xmas theater release rush I just dont have the time to test everything.
no theater selection picture ( theater art missing)
in campaign selection page, the map shows default 64 korea, not 128 korea map.
try to switch to korea1970 > CTD. it seems the theater can not be switched properly. check first part of crashlog.txt.
unable to enter flight page in 128 korea theater. this theater can be switched.. after i select one campaign and one sq, hit commit > CTD immediately. crashlog is the second and third parts.

I dont know what I must do to that image so people wont report the "bug", I specificly made the image so people would understand that ah-ha, the image is missing or work in progress.

Hmm very strange, I just tested this myself and it appears that when you start RV, select campaign and you dont see background image or squadrons, but if you click any of the campaign buttons, then the background map image appears as well as the squadrons. Strange indeed, I never seen this happen before
try to switch to korea1970 > CTD.
Works fine for me. Hmm...

Shiet, I need to do some more investigating, but at least the switching to 1970 theater suggests some problem. Altough I have the developer dir version in my RV install, not the RC1 that came out of the downloaded rar. So who knows.
But hey, thanks CCC for the feedback, its very much appreciated as always!
Now I have something to work with to try to solve these issues. Hopefully we can get RC2 ready soon. Stay tuned, and do send more feedback if you (anyone) come across.
