I'm using WRPTOOL on a Win98SE system and the only problem i expirienced so far that i better not run another memory intensiv application.
So far, so good.
Now i'm trying to place forests on my (functional) island and cannot use any of the "region" features.
They are simply not working.
(singularly i can place, move and delete any object i want)
No error message, nothing. Not even deleting anything is possible within the selected boundary.
I've tried any thinkable object, none can be placed, deleted or whatsoever with this feature.
Has anybody run into this yet ?
Any hints, suggetions, ideas ?

Re: Region select tool
The selection procedure itself works fine.
Like i said, the only thing that's not working is the execution command, strange indeed.
I'll keep You informed.

Re: Region select tool
Look's like i cornered that bugger.
Every now and then i get an "Access Violation" message.
However, when WRPTool is running, all but 20% of my 512MB
are already in use, region tool just kicks it over the edge when it starts working.
Guess i have to live with that for right now, unless somebody comes up with a new idea (or convinces me that XP is the better OS, quite a challenge in itself)
So.....? I'm all eyes and ears !
BTW, Happy NewYear to everybody, and keep your good work going.

... if I remember right, Win98 isn't supported at all from 2004 on... is this a good reason?...(or convinces me that XP is the better OS, quite a challenge in itself)

Re: Region select tool
Legal Smeagol... Mr. Bill don't even run 'normal' XP either.
Anyway, what is your memory usage BEFORE you load WRPtool?
You really need to have at least ~350mb free, and of course as much as possible. Basicly, even with 512mb, I'd kill any other applications, ditch Active Desktop, kill as many processes as possible (Ctrl-alt-del, and go down the list), etc. Sounds like you may have a mangled (fragmented) page file too.
BUT, an access violation is still something to be looked into.
Thanks.

Re: Region select tool
I just finished switching to XP, beefed up memory too,
that did it.
Forests look great.
