Is it possilble to add a theater the forum list of Theaters or Add-on's?
Speaking of which - - - anyone have info on linking slots with CTs for hardpoints (pylons) which in turn link to weapons? First, I would like to ensure the new models I am adding to our database display without issue and second I would like to be able to create some new CT's and apply new pylons for new aircraft.

Re: Israeli Theater
Sure if you have a active/good/etc theater going on which really needs a forum. But dont ask me, since I'm so out of loop of the F4 scene nowquote:Originally posted by Ranger:

Re: Israeli Theater
Well it was a thought. There are really only three truly active theaters being developed right now - - - ODS remake for Operation Iraqi Freedom, Angola Theater, and Israeli Theater. There is a possible fourth theater, European Theater, but not sure of where they are or what they are doing at the moment.
Angolan Theater is slated for release next year some time, OIF is on-going and don't know the timetable, and Israeli, is getting close to its first phased release. Israeli Theater has its own website for developers and we could just use FreeFalcon for annoucements and a forum, but PMC has long been the home for lots of developers from all executables (FF, SP, BMS, etc). It seems logical to post things here to capture the few die-hard developers attention and maybe enlist some advice or contributions.

Re: Israeli Theater
Hey.. Khronik here.
Really impressed with the work you guys have done with that theater. Im currently working on a Israeli conversion for AF and have pretty much completed it. I was just thinking after seeing your work if you guys would like to team up to release it for AF at the same time? I have made 3 new fictional theaters for Israeli for my AF installer though it would rock if we can integrate your theaters skins / CAM into the installer. The CAM format is compatible with AF and also the terrain data works fine.
Heres some screens of the conversion i did allong with new UI / SKIN / TERRAIN / CAM / ETC work.

Thanks.. tho im trying to find the original makers of the Israeli Theater so i can get their "OK" before i put this out. Dont want to step on anyone's toes.
When i saw your screens i thought wow that would be really nice to add to the installer, credit due of course. Ive managed to get 2 really good Skin guys to do so far the F16/F15/F4/MIII/Etc though you guys took it a bit further with some of those models / skins.
Let me know if you want to share.. lol.

ITO2 for OF
Great - you going head the effort to port for everyone looking for an OF version of ITO2? If so, take a look at the result of the installer when it is released. Understand how the files & folders differ from OF and that will help to develop the method of handling files. I would recommed that you avoid having to make edits to the database, flight models, in order to accomodate OF theater switching limitations.
In order to get the complete ITO2 files you should probably be able to create a dummy Microprose/Falcon4 folder and the ITO2 Basic Installer should install all the files into it. You should then run the movies add-on installer. The cockpit add-on is something we need to discuss. I don't know how OF handles the cockpits but if it is anything like FreeFalcon 3.1.1 you will need to decide if you want to use the default cockpits of OF or if you want to swap out those OF cockpits for the ITO2 cockpits which will then allow you to have 50+ cockpits to fly nearly all primary aircraft. Perhaps the easiest way is to create a stand-alone installation just for Israeli theater. The next way is build some sort of patch program to swap out the various ITO2 files/folders. When you are ready to start - go ahead and start a new topic in Israeli Theater for porting to OF. We can me there and work our way thru the process. The end product should be a working installation of ITO2 for OF. It will then be up to you to build an installer to distribute ITO2 for OF. I doubt it will take very long.

ITO2 for OF
Well sounds like Couby and you should discuss exactly how you want to handle things. I will work with whoever wants to lead the effort. I can also probably build the installer for you if you use the Israeli theater folders and don't build a stand-alone theater (which I think may actually be the better way to approach things) - - I just need the basic files that will be needed and the file folders you need.
CockpitsIsraeli, if you don't use a stand-alone theater will need to be patched in and out each time if you switch theaters, if you want to use ITO2's cockpits. Otherwise - just use the Korea default cockpits and then go back later and rebuild the cockpits the way you want - the 3d cockpit lods are in place as well as the 2d cockpit LODs. . it is entirely up to you how to use them or not.

Well Ahem... I haven't got enough time to work on this at the moment and I think COUBY is more experienced in OF conversion and he's very occupied too.
It could be interesting to create a sort of OOB where we could see projects and who is involved in those projects in order not to do the same thing.
For the moment I am interested to catch lots of middle east skins. At this point I request authorization of the ITO2 team to add some of their skins in my little fix patch for ODS 0.6. Maybe I found someone to help me to adapt my campaigns for RV.

Skins from ITO2
Fafa - feel free to use any skin I have made and released over at OpenSkins I released about 20 PSDs and a bunch of stenciling tools - - All the other skins/textures are derivative in nature and I had to ask a permit to make/use them . . . so you better make you own for those or get a permit from the original maker to avoid any issues.

Thank you very much, however there are so much people who made those skins that I can't find everyone of them (it's not written on the skins)....and wait an hypothetic permission (some abandonned Falcon months or years ago). That's a real problem and not useful for the common interest and for a better acuracy.

Permits
Fafa,
I agree with Peled - the info you seek is located in the docs section. Getting permits is a necesasry evil. Every release contains detailed, by name info, of who did what. Eyran and I worked really hard to track everything down, as CCC, Baldeagle, Peled, and others will tell you. It is very difficult to grant you a permit to use something that doesn't technically belong to us. The EULA that I got from some very generous people didn't extend to granting that permit to others. I can't give you what doesn't belong to me - I apologize for any inconvenience. The easier course is if you really want something - you can always just make it yourself. You will find that almost everyone will grant you a permit - you just have to ask. I am trying to think of any instance where someone said "no" to my request. I can't think a one instance. Part of the reason is that I also intend to hold to my agreement with everyone that was generous enough to share their work or let me use it in some way for ITO2. Good luck.
