procae util for automated object placement
We have the basic perls; dem2lf.pl, procppp.pl and procae.pl which we wrote in C so it can be compiled and used in linux/windows.
Now I've modded the procae to generate Village/City/Airbase objects from the e00 datas. These are the same datas you'll see when you load terrainview feature TDF files. At the moment it also creates two factories for each city and randomizes the village/city types (will add random type selection to factories later).
Here is 150kb screenshot from the T-Bone's MidEast campaign for what I created the objects.

The goodie stuff here is that the exe creates the .csv tacedit import file in matter of seconds. Only "work" you need to do is to run the program with the long/lat parameters and thats it.
Of course this object placement is nowhere near the complete, but for 1-2sec of work to place these, it is extremely cool and will populate the theater very nicely.

Re: procae util for automated object placement
Great news! Seems like creating a new theater for F4 gets easier all the time!
So, when can we expect to see this new utility?

Well those dem2lf.exe, procppp.exe and procae.exe have been done few months ago already. but there is still some problem in the extreme long/lat coordinates, like alaska for example. Thats why I havent released them because they work only 99%quote:Originally posted by Quicksilver:

Dunno how many people would appreciate fast WINDOWS dem2lf converter + TDF makers (even some extreme coordinates bug a bit)?

Re: procae util for automated object placement
The Village objectives creator util is now taken from linux and compiled (with few fixes) to a windows program.
Anyone wanting to test it out, email me to nospam
