New 2D toy: Hornet pit
Well, not completely new, but very much renewed!
We now have a functional pit, damagemodelling. nightlighting, 3rd MFD, improved graphics, and that sums it up nicely. http://fly.to/aeyes

Re: New 2D toy: Hornet pit
as usual,
Highly recommended!
Be sure to release related patches, hemlet graphics, and..automatic patch-upgrade after 100th successful carrier landing!

wait, your thread title looks familiar...

Hi Aeyes! Way Cool! I noticed you used Photographs in large parts... it looks *so* good!
But you have MFDs flipped... in the Hornet, right MFD is radar and left MFD is targeting/system data (FACK etc.)
I'm just beeing picky
Basil

Yeah, thx for the tip Basil
Btw, there is a swap button
Maybe it will stay on when doing alt-C S and alt-C L ?

Hi Aeyes! Noticed the swap button too... but it still comes up in the wrong positions at the beginning of a flight
As I said, I'm pretty damn picky
Keep up the great work!
Basil

Re: New 2D toy: Hornet pit
hmm... it seems this nice pit pack should contain a carrier landing TE( though carrier not landable yet), for practicing the landing pattern.

Re: New 2D toy: Hornet pit
I know there is gonna be a TE with carrier coming with 1.10, but not sure if it is just for practicing landings, don't think so actually.

Re: New 2D toy: Hornet pit
Thomas posted this on frugals' forum:
============================================
Here is how to use it with the automatic cockpit switcher in eFalcon:
-rename the folder to "139" and drop it into "\falcon4\art\ckptart"
-edit cockpit.txt in "\falcon4\art\ckptart": change the line "F18A 139" to "F18C 139"
============================================
it works! big thanx!
though no korea map shown on HSI MFD. what's wrong?

When you look closely you will see 2 buttons at the bottom of that view on the 3rd MFD, one that says "map" and one with "compass" to go back. Then u'll get the map.

Thanx!
BTW, i think Thomas' note should be distributed with pit pack, or modify your current zip into a better zip format, generate folder 139 automatically, etc.

Re: New 2D toy: Hornet pit
Hey Aeyes,
Over at Dephi we were talking about not having the 1.10 cockpit (long story).
Anyway, I commented I was using the Hornet pit to practice carrier traps!
Spunky asked if I had an .f4p for it. I said no, and explained that I thought you weren't going to do an .f4p until it was done (did I read that, or just imagine it?
) and that I would feel weird doing an .f4p if the creator of the pit was going to wait. But, I told him I'd see if it was ok with you.
So, to make a short story long, is it OK? Personally, I don't have a problem renaming the ckptart folder to change stuff around. Just thought I'd ask.

Re: New 2D toy: Hornet pit
There is a new version of the Hornet on it's way so I would hold the 4fp file for a little while. Joel Bierling will probably add it in the new F4cockpitpatch i think, have to contact him about it. I am not sure if i can finish This version coming 24 hours, but very soon is more likely. Meanwhile, there is a far more easier way to have the Hornet pit automatically, create a folder called 139 in art/ckptart enter the Hornetpit's files in there and fly an F/A-18.

Uhhh...Zaggy...dude-you need a girlfriend/boyfriend/wife/docile house pet or something!

Having said that, I must admit to a momentary homage to former US President WOODrow Wilson on occasion after seeing a new Aeyes 'pit. Of course, only in the privacy of my own home and with the blinds drawn.
Thanks, Aeyes!
