very nice 3d modeling and 2d art.
hmmm.. we f4 got nice F4E too. F104 3d half-done, F100 and B57 ready in 3ds. no F4E 3d pit yet, F104 3d pit half done. nice F4E 2d pit from Aeyes. preview 2d F104 pit from Mix. that's all we have.

Have a big concern........
look at this screenshot......
http://www.simhq.com/simhq3/sims/previe ... 0014.shtml
see the size of the shaodow of the F-100 when compared to the T-55 Tank on the ground?
That is a proportional scale problem. I sure hope they notice that bug and fix it. If they dont then it will suffer the same scale problems that plagued FA...

Do you have line drawings for the F-4E pit to construct the 3D cockpit model? I find scale is always one of the hardest things to figure out. Is the scale in Falcon 4 one to one or some other factor?
Perhaps Aeyes would share what he has found. Mind you his info is mostly pictures not drawings. might be wrong tho'.

sorry i missed your post.
and i know Aeyes' pits are based on 2d, there will be inevitably some differences between 2d and 3d view.
BTW, updated pics on Projket 1 website.
very nice 3d pits!

yes, we got pretty nice line drawings from a russian aviation site.quote:Originally posted by Tex:

sure, the scale is one to one, in feet unit.quote:Is the scale in Falcon 4 one to one or some other factor?

I don't know, it looks okay to me. I wonder if they have dynamic shadows (i.e. changing shape and size with aspect change and altitude of the object)quote:Originally posted by CAG:

Latest screenshots from Strike Figher! very nice indeed.
on our end, hmmm, we haven't built many vnam-era toys yet.. F4 variants and A6/7 i think. A4 in progress, F100/F104 need further development, no Tu22 blinder, An12 waiting conversion...

Re: Projekt 1/Strike Fighter! screenshots!
yup nice sim I hope to recieve a demo this week, for writing a preview on it.
If this sim is going to be anything like IL2 but with 60's ac I am going to be very happy.
and since TK produced it I am very confident it is going to be great.
but again this one has not the potential
to get Falcon4 of my HD...

Yep almost right, but not very wrong. I use whatever reference I can find for modeling a cockpit, and since the F-4 was one of the first I did and it is a old plane I based the pits (back and frontoffice) on many sorts of material. That means 2D material from many angles to get the right depth perception, pictures I took, linedrawings, scalemodels etc etc. If you send me a mail I can send you a linedrawing of the pit if you want.quote:Originally posted by Tex:

it will be released by the end of July.
no demo releases.
I might get one no solid prommisses though
I have to write 2 articles in return for it

some screenshots from "beta release"
very nice shots indeed. here's my 2c:
1. phantom 3d pit, i think pilots' FOV is slightly lowered, so do F104 and A4's.
2. sweet F4B/C/D modeling, we'll got those varinats in f4, though not as detailed as P1. Aside from total poly count, ours missing some delicated parts like Antenna, fairing on vertical fin, and external lites. Not a big issue.
3. i like that mig21F-13. It could take a while to tweak our fishbed for that model, mainly canopy part/slimmer airintake, and vertical fin root.
4. F-4 pylon(2,7), we got to model that "two-winder + bombs" loadouts.
5. hmm..F104.. sweet model..

very nice shots... shiny F104 and SU7.
Suddenly i found we picked *similar schemes* for our F-4B. i dont remember we have that AC tailcode skin, yet the rest is covered

Re: Projekt 1/Strike Fighter! screenshots!
It seems life's getting pretty tough these days
TK's post on SimHQ board...cant believe he's almost on his own at this moment!

TK's post on SimHQ board...cant believe he's almost on his own at this moment!
phew..who's the winner in next few years? WW2--IL2?, modern--LOMAC? FV??quote:Well, we did have extensive talks with a lot of the publishers - all the ones we knew about (including Ubi) and some we didn’t even know about - before selecting Strategy First. I still feel that we made the best decisions given the choices we had; keep in mind that flight sim is very un-popular among publishers.
Anyway...
Rest assured, we will be making an announcement in here if and when something worth doing an update does happen - which at this point can be one of only two things: either the game goes gold or it gets cancelled... so keep your fingers crossed!
And in case you didn't know, we're very short-staffed at the moment - I'm the one who's doing the bug fixes, and I'm also the one who has to update our website, answer all e-mails we get, and post replies on the forum. And as much as I try, I just can't seem to find the time to do it all... So please be patient. Once the game goes gold - it won't be much longer - I'll make the announcement, update our website, then go around all the forums answering any questions you guys have posted.
