Manual & Auto Lasing. What's the difference??

Post by Butcher_ss »

Hey guys. I have been through the weapons checklist of the SP3 documents and I came across two different modes to use Laser Guided Bombs. The one is Auto and the other is Manual Lasing. Is Manual Lasing the method that is used in real life? I am not sure about this guys. Do you really guide the bomb in Auto Lasing or it guides to the target by itself. I am not very sure of what the difference is. After using GBUs like the GBU-24 and hit the target I am very pleased. Could someone clarify whether I hit the target or the bomb guides itself to the target without me guiding it.
Anyone knows the answer??

Hey guys. I have this question for you. Are the GBUs guided in Falcon or do they strike the target that you lock on? I am not really sure at times since I start turning around without affecting the bomb's guidance. Is this supposed to happen? I am using the Realistic Avionics and I follow the istructions from the SP manual for using GBUs.

GBU strikes the target you lock on, if the line-of-sight of laser designator/gimbal of laser designator keep staying on target.
