Great, we cant live without Aeyes
no offense Aeyes, this alpha pit needs lots tweak. i mean the scale of parts and perspective views, after viewing/collecting so many flanker pit pics from the net.

No offense at all CCC, it is good to have feedback. I am kind of used to your perspective by now
As I expect you are getting used to my stubordness a bit.
Anyway, the above shot is already a phase futher again, after all it is Alpha material in development. About perspective and sizes and such, I have closely copied scales of real pits, and it does come really close. It is still hard though to model a 3D environment correctly on a flat 2D pic. Also re POV's, I have been sitting in several pits of modern jets lately and think I have a good idea what the view is like from the pilot's view, even when different planes are considered.
Some do have almost no forward and some have quite a big forward view, even seeing the nose, and I am of average height, 1,84m.
After I had a close look in general I also decided to head more for close up than wideviews, the sense of sitting in the aircraft increases that way. That's why both the Mig-29v2 and the Flanker are modeled the way they are now, while I noticed that the amount of free space (environment/blue) is at least as much in v2 as in the v1 of the Mig-29 pit.
Ok, I am back to the drawing board again

How about an Su-33 or Su-35??? The Flanker with the fully glass cockpit??? 3 or 4 MFD's, thrust vectoring, all the goodies...
Just me fantasising again....

Thanx Aeyes. glad to hear you ever sit in some real pits, it helps to define the view angle and field.
