New 3d toy? VI

Post by ccc »

well, i note talented guys in F4LE group keep releasing new toys, if you ever check their latest toy shots, you'll learn the solid future of falcon4 (not one-more-year-later FV) Image

Here i do minor tweak on av8 shape. most parts are touched except for canopy area and wingtips wheels.
skins from a nice guy put on Delphi forum.

Excellent model! It looks a lot better than the original AV-8 shape. I think this one would be real useful in Desert Storm or Balkans as an FRS2 or AV-8A.

One thing though: When you make these LOD changes, could you also incorporate fixes to the slots? IE, add them to the harrier, relocate the MiG-29 ones, etc., so as to combine all 3D changes into one and ensure compatability?

Icebrain, that sea harrier is far from ready.
Lots thing to fix like:
1. its a FRS1, not FRS2.
2.radome reshaping..too small.
3. reduce the canopy size..too big.
4. minor tweak on air-intakes.
5. move wingtips wheels to right places.
6. texture re-mapping.

Slot things will be left to some specialist.

"1. its a FRS1, not FRS2." Dang it! I should have caught that one...

But even with those little things, it still looks better

1. AFAIK, Ripper or Jerry? is working on Tornado.
2. it takes tens minutes to hours to model a new a/c, minor tweak takes minutes.
3.Honestly, anyone can do a GR7. fire up your LE, and edit the vertices on nosetip..just lengthen it will do.

That BLU-107 is excellent! It looks JUST like the real thing! Man, I won't even bother re-doing some of the weapons... by the time I've finished by research, CCC has the model done already Image

Basil,

no tomhawk >> AA12 with textured control fins.

and the thing in the lower left(right?) part I don't know...
>> CBU87 with fin extended.

Tazz,
those nice toys are done by Spike, not me. Image
Spike is quite good at modeling, and experienced in handling switch nodes, note those deployable fins and chute.

I love that nice blackjack..great toy for Red Storm..Reborn!! Image Image

I have the Mac version of LE pretty much done. Spent last night reworking my B2 model. I can say that the program works great! Since I started with the Tu-16 model, I had a lot of unused nodes and a few look thrus. What I did was delete all the unused nodes, and then moved all the nodes around using copy/paste/insert. I set up a whole new structure using split nodes and the model now has no look thrus and I reduced the size by 10k!

In short, you can model much faster with the new version as you can add/delete/change/copy/paste. No more trying to deal with what the model already has.

Fred is getting real close with the PC version also. I believe he is hoping to have a beta release sometime this weekend.

GREAT! Im eagar to try new LE!

Lots toys suffer from see-thrus and too many unused vertices, and even more dropped due to similar cause!

hmm.. time to resume previous modeling like A7/A3/A4/F8/Yak28/Su7/9/11/YAk141...... Image

CCC,

Cool man! Does this new version of LE mean that you'll "finish" your models up? I can't wait to fly the A-7E or A-4M!! (please please please please also make a hunchback model? Image )

Yes, look's a lot more easy to work, wit the new LE. Wat about some expert(CCC) Image, could make this one...
We haven't F-16 2 seats.

Two seater viper, we need new LE to add extra pilot polys.

A7/A4 and other a/c, we need new LE to create some side-air-intake, singe-engine template first.

and now, best to spend your free hours over Balkans Image

CCC, about you're reply to my other post. I was just assigning the problems I've found in the Vietnam campaign, to Snake easily know what need's to be fixed in the next release.

About the lods. Let me see if I've understand it right. IF, in the future we'll be able to add new lods; we need too add they're own characteristics like speed, ammo, etc, to use them. And if we can add planes can we add also choppers, tanks, ships? Then, can we use them? Drive a tank or fly a hello?
If we had a hook to the navy planes maybe we can have carrier operations!

Is like heaven! Image) Image) This sim can be like an "never ending story"...

When Falcon V came out, we just need to convert everything to it!

I think, I'll be 60 years old and still be flying Falcon;-)

Xanix,

1. new LOD and related files can be added. We got many talented guys to handle this topic, its no more a problem.

2. driving tank and choppers, i dont think hard-cores want this.

3. hook for a/c, it needs SC hacking. eTeam has made carrier takeoff/landing available, we got to wait and see. Say, i tried to modify Nimitz for Midway or Tarawa, but no sucess..short of vertices.

BTW, where can i find good line-drawings of ships, with top/side/front views?

ya, it is.
dunno why current LE cant show the vertices of F4's elevators, so i cant reshape them for Jag..thus it looks odd. hope new LE can help fixing this.

Hi CCC

Excellent work - Perhaps you should get together with Mike and Christian and produce a "weapons pack" to keep us going till RP5 and 1.10 are released.

BTW - Those are better than the LOMAC weapons I've seen in screenshots Image

Use Mike's LodCompiler, anyone can generate missile/bomb in minutes! You dont have to edit vertices one by one!

Right, its a pengiun. fin needs more vertices to round out its shape.

AFAIK, those used on jet got no folding wings, only those for chopper do.

Yeah, you are right about the folding fins, CCC.

Spoke to a LAMPS-guy on a frigate some time ago. He said he liked bringing Hellfires, cause if you met an enemy heicopter, you had an "A-A" missile.

Zaggy, missile done with LODcompiler, availabe at F4LE yahoogroup.

Aeyes, I've done some sub in 3ds format. For LOD, i got to find adequate lods.

Striker, i used to visit Jane's site everyday Image To model that, we need good 3-side line drawings. BTW, Nordic beta1 ready?
