How do I get promoted in F4

I have many kills naval 38, ground 213, Air to air 58 etc but yet I have to be promoted from 2LT. I have the game set to rookie is that a cause or what do I need to progress in the pormotion process, thanks

If you fly a mission exact as the briefing says, timing, navigation and mission goal you collect the points to promoot. In fact you don't need kills to get promoted. you need 150 points for 1LT
