Greetings. I'm enjoying the ODS Theater very much. Great work!

Question: Is there a way that I can take all the data I see via TacEdit of the files save0.cam or save1.cam and create a *.tac file?

I fail to see what you want to do here...

ODS Tactical Engagement (te_new.tac) file is identical to the ODS save0.cam, save1.cam files.

If you want to create your own TE missions then just start TE -> New and you can do that.

If you want to create save2.cam, then export all save0.cam objectives, load save2.cam and import the objectives there.

So what exactly do you want to do here?

I think what he wants to do is get all of the squadrons and ground units from the campaign into a TE, so he doesn't have to go through the whole process of plaicing them again.

Correct. I'm trying to place all of the US-led Coalition and Iraqi campaign combat units into a template that I can use as a starting point for creating my TE's so that I don't have to go through the whole process of deploying the entire OOB again.

BTW, the te_new.tac file is a nightmare to work with.

As seen from TacEdit Map View, all objects in the top half are owner Saudi and all objects in the bottom half are owner US.

As seen from Falcon mission builder, all object in the top half are owner DPRK and all object in the bottom half are owner US.

Very weird to say the least...

Its strange because I do not want to set the individual ownerships for all objective in TE.

Not sure actually how it works, but basically you can run the TCL scripts to te_new.tac also.

You know, tcl... the scripts I made to create the campaign units for ODS.

Unfortunately, no sir, I am not familiar with tcl scripts.

Start by downloading the latest tacedit and run the scripts included there.

create.aaa.2.airbases.tcl
create.sam.2.samsites.tcl

Those two I think was in there

Its quite obvious what they do but the first creates KS-19 for east and KD-200 for the west airbases. Second creates random SAM units to samsites, using the correct equipment from east and west.

Let me know when you have fired those up and if you still need the ground unit placement stuff from me, then we can arrange you my ground unit scrips.

By the way, is there a script that changes the ownership of objectives that will define the peacetime borders between all these countries?

No because the script has now idea of which objectives ownerships to change.

Maybe if we whine loud enough, Codec will code some nice saveX -> te_new.tac exporter into Tacedit
