ODS kneemap previews.

Here is a pix of the current ODS kneemap I 'm working on. It's 2048x2048 but I resized to 512 for posting.


So far only the image background, the borders, country name and sea are displayed.
Some borders may be wrong and will be corrected along the way.

Dont want to be a prick, but some area's on the map youve shown as underwater are land... For example, the Caspian is at about 20m below sea level, and the 'lake' down the border of Israel and Jordon and Syria, is actually land as well...

Ask SM for the Theater Map i did from the Satellite Imagery, and u should be able to get things looking accurate from there...

Question; has this also been considered in the actual terrain??? the fact some of the middle east is below sea level and the like???

Thats the map with ocean levels still wrong and lakes missing from Iraq (and Iran + Turkey but they do not show up on terrainview anyway). The ocean level is mostly seen on the Gaspian sea.

I thought you had the corrected version.

Other than that stuff that my geography-impaired brain wouldn't notice anyway, I think it looks good. I like the kind of rough, black and white back ground.

Yeah I noticed the kind of big lake non existent in Isreal and some difference in contour in the caspian sea from the charts I have

nice map!

2048 map should be included in release package, let simmers print out for plotting flight plans.

That's the way to go. Go set quality standard. I hope every theatre will benefit from such large kneemaps in the end, can't stand the grainy aspect when the standard ones scale up.
