So what is realistic, do you have any real-life aerial photographs we could take a look?

Yes that is just it.. I have alot of books of various "rugged" country and it just seems to mostly be rocky... Perhaps I should elaborate what I am doing first! Image

I am trying to build the mountin ranges in China... these I DONT have pics for and I am trying to "wing it" as it were. Rugged Mountians in the eastern segments and softer mountians in the central souther region and flat lands of rice paddies.. (PRC/Taiwan theatre).. The problem I have run into is that the mountians end up looking "squarish" when surrounded by the flat rice paddies....

Its really not helping me much!

The reason why the mountains look squarish is because of Korea's square tile allignment, but creating diagonal transitions, things will look much better. This is a problem I had when making the mountain tiles for ME.

Thanks T-Bone!! I did some cut and paste and went diagonal as you suggested and it worked out quite well! Image
