world war
in the far future when we will have enough theaters. is it possible to have a full world war theater WW3. across the middle east europe and maybe even the USA. that might be the most amazing things a sim player ever saw.

Re: world war
well I dunno about the rest but actually flying 14 hours with 8 air to air refuels to the target area and 14 hours back and another 8 air to air refuels.... heck that means with any luck I'd fly *1* mission a weekend!
erhm I'd prefer closer trips to the target area

Re: world war
What about a board to report progress of different missions in campaigns around the world. A WW3 board where you sign up for a campaign, start at the same time others start their campaigns and report on progress of missions and campaign results. Could post when flights in certain campaings would be for other pilots to join.

Re: world war
That's a pretty interesting idea, Gordo!
Use the different theaters as staging points for different conflicts around the world.
You'd almost have to have T.E.'s created that would be the missions for the pilots to fly and report back the results or submit an acmi of the mission.
Something like a huge Risk game!

Re: world war
Lets take it up a notch.......
Instead of trying to tie it all together interactively on one server or leaving it all fractured with just a message board how about a dedicated ISP that has server after server up and running non stop ongoing campaigns in every theatre that has been(or will be) finished. And I am not talking just a simple PC, I am talking a set of BIG SERVERS that can support hundreds of online pilots like a LAN MEET but totally on the WEB. The minimum requirements would be either a cable modem 1mb path or wireless same so there would be very little lag.
Imagine logging in to that server and deciding which campaign you would enter into today... Europe Red Storm, Desert Storm, Vietnam, PRC/ROC, Israel, etc....
Nonstop action running 24/7 with pilots flying their own time zones and human pilots on both sides of the conflict!
This is what the communities real goal should be! A Real World War site that ties all the campaigns together. That is what was originally planned for F4! It has to be or there wouldnt be the pop down window for selecting the campaign maps you want to fly!
Thing BIG Folks!
CAG out.....
