Cuba

Post by Gordo »

Thanks guys. I gave up on Tex Mex campaign because of the size. I have decided to do a Florida v. Cuba Campaign, with the Florida Air National Guard taking on old Castro's Cuba. I got the map done and the L2 converted. Here's the map.

You should not give up due the map size, I'm planning on importing Vietnam into a 128 segment (20 by 20 dem) map, why not using same map size for your TexMex (heh love the name) theater?

Let me rephrase my statement. I have put TexMex on back burner until I figure out what I am doing. I'm not sure how to make the map bigger yet. ImageWell, I know downloading a map data (DEM) 20x20 or 40x40 makes the map bigger, but once I make the map in the DEML2, then I am still exploring how to get the .eoo files entered, and then how to texture the map, etc.
I know all the info is here, so as I search for the sequence of events, I will jst work on the Cuba theater. The TexMex is my ultimate goal.

Cuba Update-
Thanks to Widowmaker for the help with the terrain features I have finally finished the map with the DEM_L2. Now on with the rest of the work, as soon as I get it figured out.
Thanks again.

Brewski:
A war with Mexico is a ficticious theater which will be based on the Cuba Revolutionaries exported their efforts to Mexico, so you will still be killing Communist, and helping to free the Mexican Nationals. Image ViVa La Mexicanos.
Just so happens, Texas is a good staging point for the senario as there is a good border and some close AFBs.

Sounds good Gordo. Florida against Cuba has always been a real possibility. I was at the Kennedy Space Center a few years ago. There are several bus tours, I took a few. One tour went to Cape Canaveral, just north of Cocoa Beach. From what i remember, apparently a line of Rockets from Cape Canaveral were ready to launch at Cuba.
