Cuba Fictional

Post by Gordo »

A guy I use to fly Fighters Anthology with several years ago built a mission about Castro being mad a Jimmy Buffet and we had to intercept a Strike group and save Buffets house. I like the story line and will take it a bit further with this campaign, and credit goes to Striker, for the original FA mission. The names have been changed to protect the innocent.
Because it will be a fictional campaign, I am only limited to the aircraft and weapons system available in Falcon, so I am not as concerned about the year as I am the story line. Say, "Fartel Gastro", the ficticous President of Cuba, is hacked off at Jimmy Buffet for his latest fictious album, "Sand in my trunks gave me the Guantanamo Bay Blues". The US Naval Station at Gitmo has always been a sore spot with Gastro. So, Fartel launches a strike of TUs, escorted by Mig 19s and 21s to blow Buffets house off the Flordia Keys. Florida Air National Guard is launched to intercept the strike group and maintain Buffet's "1st Amendment Right", to free speech. After that, an all out war against Cuba is declared by Florida's fictious Governor, "Jugs Rush".
After the election of 2000, there is a group of citizens in Florida who would just as well have Fartel in power as Jugs anyway. The Fartel Rebels have launched strikes in southern Florida.
Fartel is sending rafts and by the hundreds with squads of Cuba regulars. The Florida National Guard is activated and engages the rebels and Regulars all over southern Florida and the Keys.

sounds cool.
I think major USAF/USN/USMC a/c could be used in this theater. but you'd better limited the use of "smart weapon", or limited wpn effectiveness in the level of eighties. so the US forces wont be too overwhelming.
