California in work

Post by Guest »

I am now in work on the California and figure most of the details out. It will take a while unless more people want to help out. I do have a question:

Does anyone know why, when I view mountainess terrain near farms in 3D, I get a stair step effect? The tiles don't quite match up. Do I HAVE to use specific tiles for specific elevations or is it just a recommendation in the Tutorial?

Some mountains which have high elevations can get somehow of stairs effect. In mountains you should always use mountain tiles or forest tile...

Can you post us a screenshot?

I forgot to say, one thing I am not so sure of is the Normalization. What is that for?

This unregistered ubb or whatever dont allow screenshots (I guess?).

Just post the link here like I did on many times before and we can check it out. Of course if you dont have web space available, its bit tricky. Maybe you can email the screenshot for me...

Normalization... tell you the truth, I have no idea. never used it and dont know what it is. I think it has something to do just what was the issue here, making the terrain a bit smoother. But like I said, I dont know what it is.

I could e-mail, but I need to know how I get the screenshot. I don't think I can get It in terrain view. I guess I would have to do it in falcon. That means making the theatre for falcon. I will have to read further on the tutorial.

You should be able to take a shot with Hypersnap.

Dont worry too much about that, it will look normal in game.

Just hit Print Screen button and then start up some paint-program and paste there. Easy.

It grabs the current screen you are seeing in windows.

Alright, CTD problems solved.
its all due to a bad DRAM module.
now Duron runs smoothly at 850. Vcore 1.6v
the cpu temperature runs up to 60 c while playing falcon4!
