Here I want to list the Falcon 4 ground unit details and then it would be great to have some real life ground unit information as reference.

battalion - mechanized - btr-60:
5 x 2 BTR-60
2 BRDM-AT
2 x 2 82mm Mtr
2 SA-7
2 M-1992
3 x 2 T-55
2 KrAz T 255B,
2 ZIL-135.

That's roughly 18 armored vehicles, 4 trucks and 6 separate squads(mortars & SAMs).

Just for comparison, here's an '97 OPFOR mechanized infantry battalion(APC) composition:

btn HQ:
2 BTR60/70/80s, 2 trucks

3 infantry companies
11 BTRs each

SAM platoon
3 BTRs, 3 shoulder-fired SAM operators each

mortar battery
6 120mm or 82 mm mortars, 8 trucks

AGL Platoon
3 BTRs

AT Platoon
5 BTRs

Recon platoon
3 BTRs

signal platoon
2 BTRs, 2 trucks

supply & service platoon
12 trucks, 2 vans, ambulance

That would be 47 BTRs and 27 trucks if we assume that crews are always staying within their vehicles. :)

I did some research on subject,
typical US armored/infantry division during ODS would consist of

-3 Brigades: 3-4 Battalions each
-Division artillery: 2 Bns M-109
-Aviation Brigade: 2 Bns AH-64, Blackhawks, Cavalry
-Division Support Command containing support Bns, Service, Intelligence, MP, Signal, Chemical troops, Engineers etc.

Some of those inf/armor brigades might also have arty, support or cavalry units attached.

In case you're going with real world units for ODS, I could compile stats for them...?

Hi Snake Man:

An excellent source for ground forces data is the TacOps resource web site:
http://www.battlefront.com/resources/tacops/

TacOps features modern combined forces conflict at the squad to battalion command level. OPFOR vs US / Canadian units (Canadian because the Canadian Army is a client).

TacOps is perhaps the best ground forces simulation available commercially, and a good deal at $25!!
