Hello guys!
A wonderful idea IMO would be if someone was to capture in small screenshots all the 3D objects now in F4, and add them to a database, where their "Tacedit" name would appear beside them.
This way, all object placers would have a much easier job picking the object they want!
Now...Any takers??!;-)
Cheers!
Angel

Re: 3D objects database
Am I totally confused, but does F4Browse have some 3d viewer in it?quote:Originally posted by Angel:

If so, is it only limited to Units (not static objects)?

F4Browse does have the 3D viewer that you're talking about. You can see static objects (I just checked).quote:Originally posted by Snake_Man:

If you click the CT button then double click on the graphics list you will get another dialog box. Click on the view button and your static object will show up.

Re: 3D objects database
The white triangle is what is used when there is nothing to show.
F4Browser version 2.3 beta 19. Is this the version you have?
If you have seen the triangle then you must have the correct version plus you know where to go to see the graphics!
when you open F4Browse there should be a sub-directory called Features, right? Click on that then select the first bridge. when you double click on the bridge it will bring up a dialog box with the CT record button visible. Push that button and you will get the CT record dialog box.
On that dialog box there is a graphic list under file reference. It currently shows a list structured like, "normal, repaired, damaged, destroyed, left destroyed, right destroyed, both destroyed". When you double click normal you will get yet another dialog box.
There you will see a view button. Quick, press it! Now you will see a bridge. You can change which direction as well as showing it "filled". Again, if there is nothing in the file (which is possibe) it will show the triangle (scaled to 0 ft).
Sorry for the long post, just wanted to help get you where you want to go.

Re: 3D objects database
Hi all,
Just returning from Hokkido.
I think Angel want small pics to help placing/picking objects.
hmm.. the best and definite way to do this is, intergrate Julian's BSPviewer or LODviewer with TacEdit.

Re: 3D objects database
THanks a lot guys!;-)
Seems like I rushed my response. True-I only get the triangle where there is no offset available(?-not categorized?)in the .LOD!
Have fun...

Re: 3D objects database
Much of this will be done automatically with a yet to be done new functionality in Objectplacer.quote:Originally posted by ccc:

Object names are corresponding to the tile names - at least this is true for the korean textures.
So if you want to place a Town object on a road junction which tiles name is HFARM125.pcx, you use "125 Town" subtype.
That's all
