now thats really cool.
i check some of sat coverage, china missile based located at SE coast.
resolution viewable up to 8m, black/white. regretfully that wont help tile making.

Re: Anyone see this site?
ccc, it will... F4 standard terrain is about 7.7m res (ie: multiply these images by 1.024)... Tis not too hard to colour them if you are patient.. Its how the bagdad series of tiles was done, images 'acquired' via terraserver, pasted together, then slowly coloured...
My lack of a graphics machine has brought this endeavour to a halt ATM tho...
My initial efforts for a taiwan straight theater, was to featured airfield tiles directly from terraserver sources.. the the two tests i did (one large Taiwan base and one Chinese Fighter base) looked really cool... U can dig up typical terrain colours via Nasa satelite images, amongst other sources...

ccc i know, i know... But alas, ATM, the ass end has dropped out of IT in Australia... No jobs, so I have no money to even replace the dead components, let alone get anything upgraded...
Donations of parts of money anyone???
