that was quick:
I had two emails back, one from a guy with documentation, and another from a guy who was there.
The first says: The white on camo appears was developed 1966-67 timeframe.

The second response was:
the "d" model was repainted black with the camo top from 65 to 68
the "f" model was given a camo top and retained the white nuc bottom
during the same period.
the "d's ' were used exclusively after 66 in sea staging from guam,
thailand and okinawa
the "g's and "h's" were out of my line and the g's went into use in the
70's. as the f's were probably all retired by this time.


Actually, the D's had not yet retired, as my books here show they were used in Linebacker in 1972, as were the G's. As I said earlier, I also have a pic of an 'H' model in Camoflage and black, dated 1968.

The first guy offered to send me a list of paint schemes and when they were executed and phased out, and hopefully that'll settle it. Regardless, I don't think you'll be wrong using either skin... (but I'll vote for the white nuc bottom, cause I like it best Image )
