Farming Simulator 22 FS22 Courseplay Guide and Tutorial root page is up.

2024-03-03T22:19:00Z this is still work in progress, several more pages to do for the basic stuff, but just had to get it online as it might otherwise take several days to get anything done again. New pages are coming as soon as I get around to browse through my local notes, write something down and perhaps even take a few screenshots as reference (but screenshots might have to wait until next weekend).

Feel free to reply here is you spot any errors, bugs or other issues, I'd like to get them fixed.

Farming Simulator 22 Courseplay v7.4.1 is now in github.

Farming Simulator 22 Courseplay v7.4.1.2 is now in github.

- Added vehicle config option to override default distance from turn end where tight turn offset is applied in 180 turns. Helps with #3173
- Added a vehicle configuration for combines with a pipe or conveyer that folds up from below.
- Combine self unload speed for approaching to the trailer is now set to a maximum of 10km/h or lower depending on the field speed.
- Different code improvements.
- Reset to default map zoom on save start. #2962
- Some adjustments to bale collector/wrapper mode.
- fix for #3181
- Combine unloader, no collision check for the trailer for the first few meters. (fixes situations, where the unloader drive in reverse for no reason.)
- Waypoints no more cast a shadow, this might increase performance a bit, when have waypoints active.
- Some pathfinder refactoring.
- HUD reworked for a future project.
- HUD help menu reworked. Translations have to be remade, sorry to our translators, but we had to do that step. The help menu looks better now though and is more structured for the HUD.

Farming Simulator 22 Courseplay v7.4.1.3 is now in github.

- Towed dewulff harvester, that constantly need an unloader, are now calling an unloader. (last improvement for #2972 )
- Hawe SUW 5000 is now working correctly as an overloader wagon. #3198
- Bale collecting use the same return to target before hand over to AD like combine unloader. #3247
- Pathfinder improvements and fixes for #3242
- Fix for #3265
- Fix for #3273
- Shovel position is slightly tilted down and finer hight adjustment (0.05 steps). This should help with some silage silos are not getting empty.

Known Issue:
Job selecting is still bugged in MP ( #3233 ) and will get a new Release as soon as we have a fix for it.
We just don't want you to wait longer for the other fixes so we push this one for now.

WARNING: While this version is backwards compatible with older savegames, it'll write the courses to the savegame in a new format. Vesions before 7.4.2.0 WILL NOT BE ABLE TO READ the games saved with this version! If you install this version, and decide to revert to an old one, YOU MUST BACK UP YOUR OLD SAVEGAME before!

- Even row width setting does work now #3423
- Fix for a strange waypoint transformation #3399
- Narrow field is now fixed too #3387

- Another fix for Bale Unloader #3381

- Fix for plows not starting the work after headland #3413
- Vehicles in 180° turns near a diagonal field border are not leaving the field anymore.
- Fix for Multitool #3379

New for Multitool:
- A multitool now contains 2-5 single course for each lane depending on the amount of vehicles you selected.
- That course is switched when switching the lane.
- The old "symetric lane change" got renamed to "switching lanes" and hopefully is more clear about what it does and have to be selected in the generator before generating the course.
- Multitool courses saved by older versions will not work, you'll need to regenerate them!

Known Issue:
After reconnecting to the server, the selected lane setting for multitool gets reset and won't show the correct lane, but the tool keeps working on the correct one. This will be fixed in a later version, as we don't want to wait longer with important fixes.

I tried this current development cycle few hmm guess sits by now several days ago and the multiple vehicles tool feature was broken, first version took forever (like 20min or more) to generate field work course, then once generated there was odd "Z" shape in waypoints at the end of headland, etc those kind of issues that prevented enjoyable game-play so I had to revert back all the way to v7.4.1 or something I believe it was. I have currently not tested just committed v7.4.2.2 changes.

If the dev team manages to fix the existing bugs, this new "development tree" looks pretty promising, the multiple vehicles tool is very easy and enjoyable to use now (if it actually works, eventually), I'm hopeful that this gets fixed and becomes useful.

Negative, its broken. Farming Simulator 22 Courseplay v7.4.2.2 is not working properly, using multiple vehicles in multi tool convoy does not work, there are various issues, with headlands you get narrow 0.5m to 1m missed spot streak in the field, also sometimes headlands get this kind of odd "Z" zig-zag waypoint setup at the end of the headland where vehicles get stuck, there was also other missed spots issues like without headlands fields longest edges have very narrow streak of non-worked portion. It just doesn't work, it needs more development time to find and fix all the bugs.

Do not use Courseplay v7.4.2.2 release.

I personally reverted back to v7.4.1.2 release.

There is a new Courseplay commit/4120c34da7c6e9dccda04dbf593e810adcd9d7e1 in github repo, commit messages in summary are: Row distribution calculation refactored, this might be a fix for the uneven rows, but of course needs testing in-game FS22.

I don't plan on playing FS22 today, so if anyone else can test it out please let me know here, thanks.

There was I believe v7.4.2.3 released since my last post, I tested it and the initial uneven rows and missed spot "streaks" had been fixed when using headlands, but was still there without headlands.

Looks like this Courseplay FS22 commit/0b09430046e14c71df0f550351a3eb0a814aa0b1 according to commit message might be the fix for v7.4.2.2 series being broken with the new fancy features, message is "fix: even row distribution". I have not yet tested this in-game.

Edit 2024-10-14T08:49:00Z was going to post a reply with new info but didn't bother because this is mere hours later and doesn't contain any code changes just version number change.

Not exactly sure what this means in practical game-play, field edges have always been or at least as long as I remember in FS22, quite zig-zaggy more or less, however I never had any problems with them, sure tractors steer alot in the headland but that never bothered me too much.

Courseplay_FS22/commit/d6e5c5e4544089230e3dee5ea358c75f60b22681 with commit message fix: revert changes for the field edge detection.

Farming Simulator 22 Courseplay or FS22 Courseplay in short, its filename normally is FS22_Courseplay.zip.

Warning about Farming Simulator 22 Courseplay v7.5.0.1, its broken, doesn't work. I have now been playing few days in my Start From Zero PMC Cereal Region 32km savegame and three times courseplay has failed with the following error in the log:

What happened was 4 * rubicon 9000 was spraying liquid fertilizer on a contract field, contract finished, I was riding along rubicon 2 (meaning second vehicle), I pressed CTRL-H keyboard shortcut/hotkey to stop courseplay/AI driver, then that error popped up. Error got spammed into the game log, game itself was out of control, I could get into menus but saving game didn't work, it tried to save but only saved for seconds even though large terrains save for minute or more so I knew saving was not working, all I managed to do is hit 'q' on dev console to exit the game.

This is as listed above v7.5.0.1 build from github repository.

Same as before, I just lost 39min of work on that contract field, it has happened now three different times randomly, I have successfully completed many many field work courses so overall everything is OK, but this error happens randomly and as its a FATAL error, critical bug that breaks the game, anything you have done since you previous save game and the moment this bug appears, is lost, wasted time, poof gone for good. Reload and thank you for playing, better luck next time.

I'm now going to revert into some older courseplay version to see if that would work better. Not sure which one, I don't have any specific data on this v7.4 and v7.5 series, well I mean I do, several versions of the "new v7.4" series was broken with the new multiple vehicle convoy features, but yeah no idea which version would actually not have this critical bug.

Anyways just trying to share info that nobody else loses much work because of this bug. Be aware if you're on v7.5.0.1, and obviously if you have more information, please share as I'd love to hear how it runs on your computers.
