Question about radio modding tool
There was a tool mentioned at Frugals a few weeks ago for opening the file (I don't even remember the name of the file) containing all the words that can be said over the "radio". I haven't been able to find this tool again. IIRC the tool incorporated the name of the file it was meant to edit into its name. Does anybody remember the tool I'm talking about?

Re: Question about radio modding tool
IIRC, the tool is falcontalk, or falcontlk? by Julian Onion.

Sound format must be exact. ACM or something. I get it to work in sim, means I managed to make the tower talk Turkish. Use the csv file coming with it to find voice fragment numbers easily.
If you want to edit your TLK file, and you want to copy it to another place and work from there, it is possible, but it needs two more files with it, they are evalfile.bin and fragfile.bin I guess.
Cheers.

Re: Question about radio modding tool
Is there any chance to increase the qty. of stored files? Because on bigger theaters are more airbase. Can we record stuff for Europe projects?

I don't understand your question. Do you mean what did they change WRT to the "voices" you hear from wingmen, AWACs, ATC, etc?Echo300 wrote:Oh...

Re: Question about radio modding tool
Hehe. I knew I shouldn't have written it like that - WRT stands for With Regard To.

I understood the WRT; that wasn't a problem understanding that. But I still need you to answer my question if you want me to understand so I can answer your question.Echo300 wrote:Hehe. I knew I shouldn't have written it like that - WRT stands for With Regard To.

Re: Question about radio modding tool
Ah. A better way to phrase my question would be - Why does TLK viewer not work for Allied Force?

Re: Question about radio modding tool
Because when Lead Pursuit programmed the AF executable they increased the amount of data storage in the "FALCON.TLK" file (so it could address more sound "snippets") and they programmed the AF executable to be able to address these additional sound snippets. The old TLKViewer program was design to address the old Falcon 4.0 (1998) sound structure for the FALCON.TLK file.Echo300 wrote:Ah. The TLKViewer program WILL open the AF FALCON.TLK file, but cannot "reach" all of the sound snippets. The only way to find out it's limitations is to try it and see for yourself. Remember to back up anything you are working with first though in case you corrupt it when playing with it.
