How can I have more kinds of missiles??

Hello guys. I was in Vipewear and I noticed that some F-16s were carrying the Python 4 missile and these F-16s were not of the IAF. I know that someone must have edited the missiles to be usable by the F-16s. I am sure that that was not the only weapon that was modified to be used by the F-16 as well. Does anyone of you guys know how to edit the weapons so that you can use the with the F-16? I guess that there must be A way to add several weapons more such as the Python 4 and AGM-119 Penguin missiles and the AGM-142 Popeye that can be used by IAF F-16s.

hehehe... i don't think we are using the AGM-142 over here :). we just gave those to the USAF to plce them upon there B-52 :).

more likely the Super-Poeye is the more sweet thing :).

and i don't recall any Python-4 upon F4, just the Chinese-Israeli PL-8.

I saw some screenshots of F-16s having the Python 4 missile. I am 100% sure it was that missile and I know that only IAF F-16s can carry that missile. Can I, however, edit it somehow so that I will be able to carry the missile? Aren't any editors of this kind around?

Hi Butcher,

get yourself a copy of F4Browse from the files section. You can use it to add the desired ordnance to your viper's loadout. Remember to backup your objects folder since this can mess up your F4 installation so be careful with your edits.

Thanks. I know that I can edit the missiles and add them but I really have no clue how to do so. Could you please show me how??

OK, I will try to explain it step by step.

1. Open F4Browse and click on the "Hardpoints" folder in the left frame.

2. Locate and select the following item: "F-16C 30 (1,9)" (1 and 9 are the F-16's wingtip-stations)

3. A new window opens, showing the possible loadout for this hardpoint.

4. Click the "Add" button on the right side to add a new weapon to the loadout.

5. Select type and quantity for the new weapon, press OK and thats it, basically...

I have followed your instructions but I have a problem with Python4 missile. You see in the munitions window to prepare for take off the missile is loaded but is not shown. There was no problem with the AGM-142 however and this could be because the missile exists in Falcon 4 and it can be used whereas the Python 4 is not. I got an error message when I exited the game and then everything froze. So there could be a problem with the weapons that are not used in the game, right??

Hmmm, that's strange. The Python4 is fully implemented since SP1 AFAIK. Will try to include it on my installation and see, what happens.

Yeah I was right. I removed the Pyrhon 4 missile from the weapons that can be carried, I added some more and the game run fine without any problems. I haven't actually played any missions yet bu the weapons I added were visible and when I exited the game, there was no problem. I don't know whythis is the case bu these are the facts.

I am not sure whether the missile is usable during the game but what I have noticed is that missiles and weapons that are not used by any aeroplanes during any of the campaigns they appear for selection in the munitions window bu their image doesnot appear. This has happened with the Python4 and the AGM-119 Penguin missile. I am not sure whether they will be firable during the missions.

The invisible goodies in the loadout screen are missing the rack-associations for the new weapons.
Dont worry about it, they will be all right in the sim.

I wasn't sure at first because the game crashed and the PC was not responding. Is there any way for the missiles to become visible??

You see I have found these pictures in the net showing the Python 4 and AGM-142 or Popeye missile being carried by the IAF F-16.

Well I tried this thing and the missiles are now visible. What I did with the AGM-119 was to copy the information of the AGM-84E into the data for the AGM-119. Then the missile became visible and so was the Python 4(copied data of AIM-9M). I changed several things and one of them had to be changed for the weapons to become visible. Well I guess playing around got me somewhere and the result is that the weapons are now visible and usable. Thanks guys!!
