Tiling Problem

Post by FlaconPR » 2001-02-15 03:53:00

I'm using the Auto Tile feature on Terrain View on my 128 map and it doesn't wan't to tile the cities. It tiles the roads, rives and coasts, but not the cities, and the ones that are tiled, are wrongly tiled it puts the rivers qhere it shouldn't.

I loaded the features properly and the do appear in the map, but they are not tiled.

Is it the map size???

When I was playing around with 128 Desert Storm Compute Tile Features (terrainview), it tiled pretty ok but strangely left some areas undone.

You say it tiles, but does it wrongly? Can you post screenshots for example of the problem?

That's exactly what it does, it leaves some areas undone and it tiles cities well on some places and not at all in others. On fact only the Center part of the Map is correctly tiled with cities and all. And those part each has different tdf's because they are different countries.

Maybe we need to use the system Widowmaker suggested. build 64 segments and then stitch them together for 128 theater.

>where's that Widowmaker

hmmmm being refered to as an object here...lol

did you use perl scripts or the dem2lf.exe

well for perl scripts my post works fine
as it was not written for it (see the logic)

still we'll need the new *.thr conversion for this.

for dem2lf.exe there might be a problem on starting coordinates (wich is not plus or minus 10 due to sperical calculation)
