Can anyone help me to add cockpits??
Hey guys again. I have downloaded certain cockpits from Aeyes but they are impossible to install. The insructions in the readme file are impossible to understand. I have also downloaded a fedfix2.zip file but the included readme is difficult to understand. Can anyone who has added the MiG-29, the SU-27 and the F-18 cockpits from Aeyes please guide me through the procedure of installing them. I would appreciate any assistance guys and I am sorry if I get onto your nerves with all my questions.

This instruction is for the FA18 the other planes are similar once you have an understanding of what you are doing.
If you’re zip file for the FA18 (H1,08) (or other Falcon files) are on your desktop place them in your Falcon4 zip folder:-
Select. Start
o My computer
o Local drive ‘C’
o Microprose
o Falco4
o Zips
Having opened the Zips folder (this may or may not be empty) (dependant if you have put anything else in it previously).
o Minimise this window so that you can see both, this window and desktop
o Drag and drop the zip folder into this Zips folder window,
Once you have moved the zip folder H1,08 into the zips folder it must then be opened
o Right click mouse on folder
o Select. Extract all
o Select folder H1,08
o Select folder art
o Select folder ckptart
You will now see a folder called 139
Keep this window open and select further window
o Select Start
o My computer
o ‘C’ drive
o Microprose
o Falcon4
o Art
o Ckptart
Now (as you did before with the A-10) minimise this window then
o drag and drop the file called 139 into the ckptart folder
o Rename the folder 139 and call it F18C
Once you have done this if you click on the new folder you will see the gifs in that folder
Close all those windows you’re ready to fly
It’s always a good thing to reboot but it not critical
You must remember the gifs must go directly into the new file that you have created(not in a seperate folder, in that folder)(or you get a folder in a folder, if you understand what I mean)
If you find it dificult send an e-mail address and I will send you specific instructions to follow.
MUST DO's
Make sure you have installed the NCTR fix from Aeyes site
Make sure yo use 1024 resolution
Make sure you select an F18 to fly
hope this is ok

Re: Can anyone help me to add cockpits??
Maybe it is impossible to understand because it is actually too simple Let's take the F/A-18C.
You have a downloaded zipfile right? with a cockpit inthere. Unzip it somewhere safe.
Now go to your falcon 4/art/ckptart folder and make a new folder there, call it F18C.
Open the somewhere safed unzipped folder and copy the gifs and datfile(s), place them in the F18C folder and ready to fly in 1024 x 768.

I have added some info about their functionality. When you visit the cockpits page agin, you'll find a couple of arrows with links to functionality descriptions.

When you go to: cockpits/freeware cockpits and scroll down, you will find functionality description links (arrows) right from the SU-27 and MiG-29

Yes you are right. When you said that you added these I entered your address but I didn't find it at first. Today however I found them because I looked at the right place. This is a good layout on what does each button do. Thanks man.quote:Originally posted by Aeyes:

Oh by the way, I have downloade the F-4E Phantom cockpit but I'm not sure what NCTR to use in order to intall the cockpit. Will it be OK if I use F-4 or will there be any problems??

That depends, what sqn you fly and what type of F-4.
See the fedfix readme for correct numbers and try em out for yr setup. Personally I use 899.

Re: Can anyone help me to add cockpits??
I have used the name F4 and it seems to be working with the F-4E SK. However I am not sure if it works with the F-4G. I haven't tried it yet and when I do I will let you know. Oh by the way when are you going to have the F-15 cockpits ready. Hopefully you will add them to the Free cockpits area!!!quote:Originally posted by Aeyes:
