Falcon 4.0 and Falcon 4 Allied Force installed on same comp?

Can I have the original 1998 Falcon 4.0 and the new 2005 Falcon 4 Allied Force installed on the same computer at the same time or does it require some tweaking of registrys or similar trickery?

I would assume they are using different registry keys, but dunno.

If it reguires some trickery, could someone please post instructions here how to do it, thanks.

it's great to see you back active in the F4 world.

The "old" F4 and Allied Force can reside together, there are no compatibility issues.

I have one SP4 and one BMS installations, and I manage them with Multifalcon application from Adolfo "Adcoma" Correa. It's really quite easy. You can download it from here

Yeah, they have two completely separate registry entries. Shouldn't interfere at all.

Yeah I use Pro utilities for Falcon4 to switch between mods for the original F4 with multi-installs such as FF and BMS.

I have now d:\games\f4\ dir and then backup dirs of BACKUP-f4-FF31, BACKUP-f4-OF and BACKUP-f4-SP42 which I just rename into \games\f4\ each time I want to use different version of F4. But basically since OF doesn't run on radeon 9800 card and SP 4.2 is ancient I just use RV now which is installed in F4 dir.

I was afraid there is some anomalies from some registry or whatever, but there has been no such problems. Everything runs great. No need to mess with some registry tools or something like that.

Actually AF doesn't use the standard falcon4 registry entries. It has it's own and still even if there are no entries it will run with no probs.

Also as you already know there is no f4patch involved either so again no probs there.

I have now re-installed my windows, all game registry's are gone including Falcon 4. I have fully installed and working stock default Falcon 4.0 patched to US v1.08 here rarred up in one nice packet...

Is it possible to unrar that and manually create the registry entries to make Falcon 4 run without installing it from CD?

If so, what would be the required registry entries?

If you want it fast, use the tool by adcoma, Multifalcon . You can unrar where you want, say this dir to the tool, and start to fly in a blink of one of your eyes.

I put this software on the network. Going really well. With a single click changes the active installation.

I have 4 installations and I have no problem : OF, RV, BMS1.1(old standard hispanic squadrons) and SP4.

The program is in English and Spanish

You can, if you wish, copy a folder where you installed Falcon at any other location and with this program turning it into the installation of Falcon active.
