Does F4 support bump mapping and dynamic lighting?

If not i do ya know if if they're going to be supported in sp3? Thats the only way im going to be able to create lomac type water.

No - no hints - but it really needs help from DX8 and stuff, and as SP2/3 is DX7 its much harder. You can probably do bump mapping in DX7, but as we all know, a better general engine would be first on the shopping list.

And i take it a new engine would require an .exe edit? Man, Fv's a long time comin, I hope you guys take your sweet time with sp3 ;) With coders like yourself, artists, techies who know about flight dynamics, radar, etc. SP 3 or 4 or 5 could be simply amazing. Not that its bad now, imho, some new graphics would be sweet though. Flying over some lomac (bryce style) water textures would be sweet!

Hi All,

First of all...nice site here! I very much doubt we'll see a new gfx engine until V comes out. F:OIR will feature a much improved version of the current gfx engine in SP3...but not something totally new.
