After some time without doing anything for Nevada..., well, this weekend ive been working on the mountains, they gave me a lot of headcaches in the past but now ive done some "real" rocky mountains, ive been tiling a little and although its hard to tile its pretty cool flying in a valley with two big mountains in the sides.
I hope to release the first beta before summer.
Heres the "official" logo for the Nevada theatre, just need to find somewhere where i could post a gif file.

Well, still working on nevada more, still havent finished the sets, the mountains are just 10 tiles by now, the colorado canyon 4, tell me what do you think of this shoot

Well, the first one is the view from Nellis AFB, the second one is a low altitude near the mountains, the third one the first shoot at the Colorado Canyon, just tell me about the colours in this one, the fourth one its a high altitude flight in the mountains,

those tiles are superb!
i like the first two.
as for the third and fourth, look nice, few more variants of cliff/mountain tiles could help that repetitive appearance.

Another thing that im doing is making the Nellis AFB with its own tiles, since its not possible yet to make 3d stuff ive done this.

Hey Com_gp, can you please take few of the basic (not osan/seol etc) airbase background tiles from korean and "convert" them to desert terrain?

These are missing from ODS totally, it would be very nice to have at least one airbase background tiled and terrain leveled for the beta 1.

If you need, I can check the tilenames for you. If you have the time Image

No problem, i just need the basic desert tile, i mean, the tile of the terrain surrounding the airbase and also tell me which bases do you want, like a 22_0.

nice tiles. maybe you could melt the peripheral pattern/colors into the airbase ones. there are very distinct margins around the base, just my 2c.

The other day when i was looking for Nevada pictures i found this one, from Nellis AFB at Webshots

So i got mad because that mountain is next to Nellis and its not a rocky one, when i made those i based myself in a sat pic, so now ive done a "real" soft mountains, like the ones next to Nellis, the "rocky" ones will be used for higher altitudes because i also was working in the snow for them.
well, heres the shoot from nellis, now i have to make more tiles, since i just have eight.

I'll tell ya what, I'm bringing my digital camcorder out to Vegas with me in a couple weeks. I'll get up on top of our building and take you a panarama shot spin around kinda dealy. That oughta negate all your work up till then, eh? Image

Be sure to specify which campaign to use;
such as Red flag campaigns in 70, 80, or 90-2000.

few more idea here:
1.training in 1970: USAF F4E/F111/B52 vs Aggressor F5E. (players choose Blue or Red side), i think F4E and B52 can use SEA skins. Aggressor use various desert/airsuperiority camos. add any a/c?
2.training in 1980: USAF F15/F16/F4E/F4G/F111/A10/B52/B1 vs Aggressor F5E/F16. USN a/c join? most skins use ghost gray or European green?
3.training in 1990-2000: USAF+F117/B2/F22 vs F5E/F16/German mig29. modern camo skins for all.
4.all ground units use desert skins(available in current theater skin pack)

hehe, once this f4p done, you can do batch swapping first, then swap your favorite viper skin again..so non-US vipers could join the training in Nevada too!

1970: type of a/c : skin(scheme).

say, most skins for 1970 training will use SEA,

Hey ccc, ive found some cool information about all the aircraft at nellis and their fighter wing, ill send it to you by mail.

Finally its possible to make las vegas photorealistic although im not gonna make it so.
This is because its a 400 square kilometer surface and thats 416 tiles, i was trying to tile with them and its almost imposible, i hate puzzles, so im making a new tiles basing my work in that photorealistic tiles, well, here they are.

the problem is, we cannot have F16 in both sides till some easy tool to insert new CT-index items. so various viper skins will only be used in Dogfight mode.

once a CT-index swapping tool available, i'll sort viper skins for both sides.

Well, like two weeks ago i downloaded a zip called moreskins (i think that at f4community), although i still havent test it i believe that its used for having many f16 skins at falcon at one time.
Im not sure of how it works but i read the readme and it looked it wasnt to hard.
Im gonna see if i can try it now to see if it works.

Ya, i remember VW member posted a file on Delphi, dunno where to find it.
people talked about mutli skins on delphi a while ago. conclusion is, we need increase CT index( more vehicle item)..

note: a vehicle with its unique skin need a CT index. only increase CT index and redirect it to a new skin, you can have various-skinned vipers/f5s flying simultaneously in the campaign/TE. In default Korea campaign, only 2 basic fuselage skin?+ 4-6 tailarts for viper(so only two complete skins), one f5 for campaign. if we can enable dogfight skins available in campaign, we get five f5 skins(enough), and sixe viper skins(2 complete scheme from campaign, and 1 complete/thunderbird+ 3 half complete/red, yellow, blue).

surely RPG or Mac falconer can hack it at this moment, but simmers need a standard way to apply/switch these changing CTs.

so, i includes some nice viper aggressors by Basil for Dogfight. F5 part is about done. the layout and content of f4p will be:
1.1970 pack, lesson from jungle: USAF start training there, most a/c use SEA skins, red side use F5, various NVAF skins simulating mig21/17/19.
2.1980 pack, peak of cold war, USAF training for Central Europe or middle east hostiles, US a/c use european scheme, hostile F5 use warsa pack or middle east skins, simulating mig21/23. red viper(mig29/su27) with earlier hostile skins.
3.2000 pack, USAF uses latest skins, hostile F5(mig21-23), viper(mig29/su27), and mig29(west germany skin).
as for ground unit, will use desert camo set.

hope it could be done in days.

btw, a TopGUN skin pack sounds a good idea. Image
