Due to the fact that both theaters cover roughly the same regions, the two efforts will merge together. I will re-assume the role of head texture artist and will redo some textures so that they look better in game. I will continue to coordinate QAP efforts later on (although a new approach will be adopted and the project will have to start from scratch) and will send some of the tutorials to Snakeman and hopefully we can get them up on this PMC TFW site. With CATE we will not have to spend as much time with QAP tiling as we did prior to the merge. In addition, the talents of the two teams merged together will be a win-win situation and the theater will be completed in less time. The F4ME team and artists are currently working on new UI screens for the theater, theater graphics, and menu music to improve the overall atmosphere of the theater. The QAP talents of F4ME will make the theater look more realistic than ever. We'll be seeing more vegetated areas and a randomized terrain soon. The next beta release will be extraordinary.

IMO it is a bit dark and I will tell Rob Titus to find something else. But it gives a preliminary idea to what we are aiming at.

We're going to fix the current tiles first. Some that are currently being used need some improvements, like the roads, transitions, etc.

Yes T-Bone asked me if we should join forces on ODS and F4ME which roughly covers the same area (F4ME covers bit more east) and I agreed.

So in plain terms this means F4ME will be in ODS theater.

The QAP tiling will commence after the texture.bin and L2 has been finalized, currently the v0.3 release has very limited tileset but I have theater installation which already has the three new tilesets added. We are going to use CATE and then QAP tile for the L2.

I believe the new textures made need to be 512x512 res at least in the paintprogram, we can always downsize them if needed but I don't think thats the case. Afghanistan shows us that there have been no issues with textures on any posts I've seen so far.

I have no idea on new UI graphics or sounds so far.

No need for new kneemap/airbase list or stations.dat files.

I'm still bit baffled of how the terrain types should look, so please take a peek on the Feedback on Terrain Types and post your comments.

I took Rob's background for the UI and made it a bit more atmospheric. Take a look here at the preliminary work. The maps are concept art!

and tell me what you think. The new music is also ready. I installed the UI and music today and all I can say is that the total atmosphere is heightened immensely and the immersion factor has skyrocketed!

however I see new background image is being planned on, wich I absolutely donot like.

great to have ME on board of ODS project
especially looking forward to new tilesets as thi what we need.
and after that the QAP process wicjh will indeed bring a L2 to a higherlevel after CATE has done the hard/tedious part.
